Debating getting a certificate in either AWS, Azure, or GCP. Which one should I choose and why? - AWS is the market leader - Microsoft is a trash factory, but apparently used by 80% of F500 companies - GCP is apparently way easier to learn and use Thanks!

Have used various services on AWS and GCP quite a lot and hold certification in one. So, here’s my two cents- 1. From service offering perspectives, for most parts, it really doesn’t matters. Majority of offerings are similar across them. 2. Certain services are easier to use in one vs the other. For example, Kubernetes, think of it as commonly used system for deploying applications, is much easier to setup on GCP as compared to others. 3.From documentation perspective, GCP is the least user friendly/poorly documented and AWS likely the best. At the end, primarily it boils down to the organizational usage, cost structure and engineering decisions. And, switching providers becomes a tough decision down the toad with easier one being to stick and have better large scale business deal. In case you learning for cloud familiarly, better look for the certification type such as Architect/ Data Engineering/ ML etc that aligns with your desired skills as opposed to service providers.

How much effort is required on each area? Can you please share your thoughts on certification as well. Can we do certification online? Or you have to do at a test center?

GCP if you want to work with the fun ML APIs and BigQuery is pretty sweet. But All of the “cross cloud” strategy is kind of silly. These companies just keep Azure or GCP around so they have some grounds for negotiation power come contract...but they will inevitably just keep using AWS.

AWS if you're just looking for a cloud cert in general. Azure if you have a specific use case, like client work. Skip GCP. If you have a client that uses GCP try to get a new client instead.

Lol whatever

I'm doing the same thing. AWS is the way to go. Absolutely make sure you take advantage of ACloudGuru through Mylearning though. It's 1000000 % better than the free training on the AWS site. Feel free to DM me and I'll hept

I'm currently working towards GCP cloud architect certification. I think GCP product line has a good growth prospects. Also, its certification offerings are pretty good. After that, I will also look into AWS or Azure

We all can debate the following point, but I would recommend Azure cert because it’s more marketable and useable. Your odds are much higher to get a client work to do some stuff around Azure. Specially a lot of companies are going with Microsoft Windows Defender ATP and AV.

Most retail clients stay away from AWS since Amazon is a competitor and go with Azure for specifically the fact that it's not Amazon.

like

Seems pretty obvious Azure is the least liked and I don’t disagree. However many companies are going azure so your options may be more with that. Bottom line is look at all three and take a position. You can’t up wrong either way. You’ll soon find which platform jives with you.

I am doing a course on udemy now which is pretty good prep too

Do the AWS cloud practitioner cert - anyone with a pulse can get it

AZ900 is easier, and again, no real reason why you shouldn't get both

like

A6–why would you say that? I’d like to get mine in case it helps with jobs but lack a tech background.

I have both AWS Cloud Practitioner and Azure Fundamentals. I studied for each one for about a day before taking the exam. They are fairly easy. Also, if you can get one, you can get both because they cover basically the same stuff. The only difference is that some of the brands are different.
