best way to improve GRE score by ten points?
Hi All,
Persistent Systems is giving 10% variable on gross annual CTC. HR says you would receive minimum 70% of variable pay every month and remaining 30% will credited once a year at the end.
Does anyone has idea on this? Can I believe this and include 70% variable in my take home

I honestly dont get why people always go to YOE. Experiences are dramatically different if you work at an Amazon warehouse vs. IB vs. MBB.
There is clear leveling from MBB to tech; staying longer in consulting buys you a lot more senior roles in tech
Unfortunately, your total YOE matters less because companies/recruiters will look at you as a 1 year post MBA Associate/Consultant. Try to stick around for another year and make EM/PL. it makes a difference. I was in a similar situation and ended up staying longer in consulting to get more senior level exit opportunities

Exit level will depend on how many years you’ve managed teams
Yes - but you could also go u to industry sooner and progress straight away. There’s opportunity cost for staying as well. Stay in consulting for 3 more years to enter tech at next level vs. going into tech, kicking ass, being promoted in 3 years later with a much deeper skill set. Being an EM/PL for 6 months isn’t going to do much for you in terms of leveling. Waiting until principal or AP... different story, but again - why not go straight in?
MBB experience has so far felt like a demotion from my previous experience. I feel like I got swindled by the marketing and it set me back in my career. I wonder if I would get a better role by taking it off the resume, saying I took the year off and highlighting past management experience instead 😂
