[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture
I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?
Hello fishes, I joined Nagarro on 24th of August. But still no project is assigned yet. Basically I am on bench. Now I am about to get an offer from ServiceNow. I really wanna join ServiceNow as it's a big product based organisation and the competition is really high compared to Nagarro. ServiceNow is giving me a joining date of 1st October. As I am still on bench, will I get released by Nagarro soon ? Because no project is allocated to me.
ServiceNow Nagarro

Tell the manager to suck a goddamned dick. Asshole.
lol you're fine
His response makes it sound like he disapproves, but formal trouble? Unlikely.
I offer my teams to work from home 100% and I'm at bdo... what office are you at? Hell most of the time I'm not even in the same state as my office, and often not the same country. Life is too short buddy. If your quality of work speaks for itself no one gives a fuck where you work from if you're working.
Work from home is fine as long as you communicate ahead of time. If you simply decide to stay home without letting anyone know, that's not right, and that's not flex.
how are you supposed to find work from home when you're unassigned? that's the only thing I see wrong with the situation. plus, the way you say you "rolled off" makes me think you don't quite get how engagements/schedules work. you're done with the engagement when the work is done, not when your schedule says so.
Being as he was calling you, you should have just complained about the jerk-off who brought a dog to the office.
Who has time to manage staff across several engagements and play babysitter??? I get it if you're in a small office on the same team, but for people on multiple clients, you own your own schedule...just get your work done.
Working remotely is frowned upon in the Miami office of BDO (courtesy of the RMP). As a matter of fact, anything that relates to you having a life outside of BDO Miami and not working 2,500 plus hours is frowned upon.
Neighbors dog started barking and before I could run to the other room he asked me if that was a dog barking in the background. I said yes and he says "so you're working from home today huh?" What are the odds I get in trouble for this?
Just say yes... BDO is flexible
You were unassigned so it's fine. Heck he would work from home too if he was unassigned.
What office?
^I do exactly that all the time - manager isn't equal to babysitter.. however there are managers still old school enough to raise their eyebrow and you just have to tell them to shove it or ignore the snark. If you get your shit done there's not really anything they can say about it
Sounds like Miami office needs some cultural changes, move west. Life is easy on the best coast.
Miami office has been needing a complete overhaul for more than a decade.
Any chance Miami office is in walking distance to south beach?
