Anyone been to Bodrum 🇹🇷 ? How was it out of 10?
So many people probably do it because it is a common abbreviation seen/used. Obviously not speaking Spanish nor talking about a cow. If vaca incited some confused as to its meaning, people would probably use vacay but an abbreviation is meant to be short so why add an extra letter if the meaning is understood? I use vaca and vacay about equally and chose vaca here as there is a character limit when posting questions. I hope that answers your question on my post even though you certainly did not answer mine

Cayman
If diving is on the agenda - cayman is my favorite place on the globe
I love Jamaica. Culture and food is fantastic. Yes, there are poor people. Personally, I like visiting and seeing / meeting people as a cultural experience vs staying inside the fancy resort bubble.
Cayman way better than Jamaica. I have not been to Aruba but have heard great things. Although not on your list...Barbados is my favorite. By the way, lots of beggars in Jamaica which actually sucked. None in Cayman (or Barbados)
Serious question - why do so many people abbreviate vacation to vaca instead of vacay? You pronounce it “vacay” so why not spell it like that? And vaca means cow in Spanish. So many people do this so I’m not picking on you, I just fundamentally don’t understand the rationale
Aruba is more expensive than Cayman Islands, but it is very beautiful. The mix of desert and beach makes for a very interesting climate. I think Aruba is great for a short stay.
Aruba 100%
Sitting on eagle beach as we speak tho I enjoy Aruba. Would depend on the resort though. If you can swing it, marriott ocean club is great.
Just got back from Aruba, stayed at the renaissance. Eagle beach is the way to go imo but buy a day pass for renaissance island and take lots of photos with the flamingos!
Good to hear. But yeah, my biggest hesitation is about the location not being beach front...
I stayed at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach resort for a weekend and fell in love with it. Also took a discovery scuba diving class, there was a thunderstorm but water was so clear that I could still see clearly underwater!
Never been to Cayman, but definitely Aruba over Jamaica. It just feels way safer and I honestly think the beaches are so much nicer - Eagle beach specifically has such nice white sand and clear water.
