Hey guys. I have a soon to be nonprofit church struggling because they already started services (collecting offerings too against my advice) before things were set with an EIN and they gave an event already planned out and are trying to find a way to spend and collect before the things are in order. They want to know if one of their small business owners can expense and collect then consider it a donation. Is this possible? Any advice or loopholes that are Legal and will avoid issues later on?
having trouble itemizing cell phone expense and finding a wbs code @ deloitte. any help is appreciated
Strategy& vs PWC perks: are there any differences? Specifically for things like expense amounts, ability to book biz class tickets, gym memberships, airport lounge access, cell phone stipends, etc.
I don't understand the Deloitte cell phone expense policy. $200 for equipment? Doesn't Deloitte pay for our work phones anyway without having to expense? I remember just being given one when joining
Has anyone purchased AirPods with the home equipment expense? I use them all the time and mine are starting to lose battery life but not sure if my firm will qualify them.
Per diem dinner allowance for Orlando at KPMG seems low at $33. That city has become much more expensive especially since it’s essentially a resort town. What do other firms allow?
If I have to cancel (non refundable) plans due to work, is it reasonable to ask the firm to reimburse me?
Just got audited for expense and they are saying that I'll owe approximately $3,500-$4,000. Has anyone ever gone through this process before? What generally happens next?
Accenture Managers & up: does Accenture pay a new phone + plan? Or do they just reimburse the cost of your personal plan. Turning in my one and only phone to D and trying to decide if I need to buy a new one now or figure out a temporary solution until Accenture sends one in about a month when I start.
If I reimburse $X and the company adds $X to my paycheck I’m losing money right? Since I get taxed on the $X in the paycheck and end up with less then I spent
Does EY reimburse for turbotax??
At a former company, they let you expense $20 for working 10+ hours in a day, but you could never use it because it would always be rejected. Recently started at a new firm, and I had a rough week last week (two 14+ hour days). New firm has a similar policy, so I asked. Was told not to submit the $20 reimbursements. Just as I was about to get frustrated, he told me I should get dinner for my wife and me. Only rule was to keep it under $100. Don't like working 14 hour days, but this was nice.
Gt does GT reimburse for cell phone bill?
Has anyone moved from a H/MCOL city to a small town or rural area? Any regrets in regards to career progression, networking, or lack thereof? I'm thinking of making the move this winter in order to cut my housing expense by more than half and to put my daughter in better Catholic school. My employer doesn't care where we live so long as we can get to an airport. I grew up in a small town, so it wouldn't be a shock to me, just worried about how it may affect my career trajectory.
Confused about admiral vs regular shares on Vanguard. Looks like admiral has a higher expense ratio but a higher minimum investment...am I missing something?
What does everyone do to stay fit during the pandemic and WFH? I've never had a consistent exercise routine but I want to start one, however I have a hard time making myself exercise in the morning so that doesn't help. Any pointers appreciated
Anyone ever negotiated parental leave before? I have an offer on the table. Gave me what I asked for $ wise and PTO. But mat leave is not great. Not trying to have a baby now, but in the next 5 yrs.
SM here - if my work visa is not renewed, would I be eligible for severance? Current non compete has 3 months of severance included
On h1b. Gonna give my 2 weeks this Friday. Really can’t take it anymore. And then leave country nov 25. (Have to hang around for a close friends wedding). Do we see any issues with this?
Will Big 4 let you stay as SM if you don’t want to make partner but are still hitting SM targets? Once you take the promotion BS and partner-promotion-chasing out of the equation SM is quite fun!
Ha, in reference to the earlier post.
I currently work as a personal injury lawyer at a small law firm, 5 years experience, graduated from T30 law school in 2015. Our subject area is pretty niche, and I am looking to branch out. Not big law, but a different subject area, and hopefully something with a better work life balance (have a small child with hopes for more). Open to leaving the law for a compliance/HR/other type position. Am I even marketable for something like that? Am I being unrealistic?
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
Want to reach out to old friends (school mates / interned together) who are at MBB. Best way to reach out to not be “that guy asking for a referral”. Even though that’s exactly what I’m doing.
I am fairly new to Canada. Trying to understand if the fees I pay for an MBA (if i ever decide to pursue one), could translate into tax benefits/credits later? Any idea?
Does Deloitte do case interviews for experienced hires in their Consulting - Marketing practice?
I’m thinking about doing an MS in Analytics/data science online and part-time during my MBA. Good idea or spreading myself too thin?
What is so good about MBB vs other strategy groups? Besides status (is their high status justified?)
Was offered points to give up my late checkout request. Anyone have experience with this? Is the amount of points being offered negotiable?
Came back from a coffee with a college kid that reached out looking for ways to prepare and improve for recruiting. Seeing someone so hungry for excellence always makes me badly want to help..
