What people tell me is that counselors matter more than scatter plots! Now, let's wait for some corporate talk.shall we?
Yes but if your counselor could justify a bad scatterplot it didn't matter very much. But just because you had a far right scatterplot didn't mean you got a 1 or 2.
SC1 is correct, we do ratings but they aren't final until later when they are looked at at the national level. We definitely walked out of that session knowing our 1s and 2s and 3s and 4s, and the distribution. But if you aren't on panel you wouldn't get to see that, though we do give a rating after the counselor presents (can change tho). The process is as fair as it can be at a firm this large.
The partner on my current project says they do. The 5 person leadership group talks off to the side for 2-3 minutes and then says the interim rating.
@D4 what percent of people go 4's? I'm a first year SC and borderline for a 4 based on scatterplot.
They actually were helpful in that we were asked to address variance we encountered. In my case I definitely encountered variance which raised important discussion.
HR captain?
It's one input. If you don't have impactful PRD even with far right scatterplots and 100% utilization, you're not getting a 1 or a 2.
in my case it unearthed a few red flags

Are you advisory or S&O ?
S&O. My sessions were for BA-SCs - the only PMDs that were around were the panelists as very few PMDs have counselees at that level.
Also are all SC's together, or does it get split by year and start date?
Only true shit got 4s. It's def not just scatterplot. Typically about 5% get 4s. If you had a low-ish scatterplot it was a starting point for a conversation.
Counselors know the prelim rating from the consensus, just like in years past. Only difference is that counselors did not recommend a rating.

SC1, ratings depend on which group you sit in. If you are in GM it is based by office and if you are in a SL, it would be different.
