Moms please send me some love and best advice. Leaving the hospital this morning without my baby as he is in the nicu and likely to be there for a week or two. I haven’t even been able to hold him yet. Tips for staying positive and how to best support the baby? E.g., seems overkill to sit in the nicu 8 hours a day but is that what I should do? Obviously I’m pumping for him. It’s just very sad to be leaving today without him but I know it’s what he needs. We do live nearby the hospital.

Women should stop taking birth control. At least it should not be the default. Women have one (+) child once in 9 months, while one man can impregnate 10+ women A DAY. Why not unload the gun? Let’s start having conversations with men and how they should do vasectomies. We are being paid less, in some places it is illegal for us to have abortions, if bc fails we also are faced with hard decisions to keep it or not, not everyone wants kids. It is time for real equality and men doing their part.

I’ve started thinking about children as luxury products 😂 They are CRAZY expensive!! My financial spreadsheets do not like when I start estimating the costs and reduced long term investment opportunities. My significant other’s family (Chinese) would probably kill us (or at least me) if we don’t have a kid. We are in Boston and the costs are very high. We are both 26, post grad school, combined making ~ 300k/year. No debt.

This weekend a good friend (who recently became a mom) was talking about her brother, who she said “was too selfish to have a kid,” despite knowing I don’t ever want kids. Anyone else hear comments like that and hurt? Simultaneously also want to yell that wanting to make a person who looks just like you is even more selfish?

I have been on ADHD meds for as long as I can remember and just found out I’m pregnant. These meds are not recommended during pregnancy, but I have no idea how I’m going to manage my job and billable hour requirement without them. I give massive kudos to all the parents out there juggling work and home life. But it’s starting to feel like I pulled the short stick by not having a kid. I’m not entirely happy at the firm I’m at (got a big paycut due to covid and not getting the experience I want) but it has some perks (letting me remote work, potentially after covid too for X months/year). I’m trying to get pregnant. My parents and in laws are retired and would help us out with baby, but they live quite far. At current job I could remote work from another state and have their support. On the other hand I wouldn’t be entirely satisfied with job. What would you do?

Hello fishes ! About to be offered a position at Deloitte London as SC. Exp : ~9. Visa sponsorship is needed. I foresee a possible negotiation on compensation from Deloitte. Not sure of the estimate yet but I understand it would be 55-60k as per other fishes . Should I settle for a lower comp while employer pays one time sponsorship & migration costs or bear the migration costs self and chase a good salary . Which is better ?
