Deloitte folks, can somebody explain how the cell phone situation works with Deloitte? Who enters into the contract and pays the bill?

When you start you choose a phone and contract option. Every month the company send you a bill and it shows up in your online expense report. You just itemize the expense and Deloitte pays it. So you’re never paying the bill, just entering in the system. You may have to pay in part for a phone if you get the latest model. Deloitte gives a $250 stipend for phones, to be used on a phone or accessories

Just a reference in June my iPhone XR was $50 because of deals they have.. so I had $200 left over for accessories

So they do pay the whole bill through the expense report? I heard 80% someplace else

@OP, let’s just say it’s not a firm priority when they do expense audits.

I went client side and am miserable - it’s madness on this side. Have made it 90 days and would prefer not to make it more than 120 - but we’re in a pandemic. Half of the problem is that I “onboarded” remote and the onboarding was TERRIBLE. The other thing is that there is no process and I’m on a team full of managers who have spent 15 years at this company and have no availability to talk to me with a day full of meetings. I’d prefer not to quit without a backup but I cry every day.

Hi Everyone,
I hope life is treating you well.
I recently moved to Ottawa from Louisville, Kentucky, and I am looking for an accounting job in Ontario or Quebec. I have work experience in Tax& Finance and an MBA in Accounting. I was wondering if any of you could refer me for an open position in your company ( after we’ve had a chance to talk, of course) or put me in contact with a member of your hiring team.
Please let me know if any of you would be comfortable doing so.

Thanks,
Sarah

I am a Manager at a big 4 international tax considering switch to M&A Tax in another big 4 or a prestigious firm International Tax group but with more structure work. Which one is better for a long-term plan (~2 years) of going to private with a mid/upper management position that is not compliance oriented? As for me, I was heavy on compliance until recent and wanted to focus on getting planning experience and management skills forward. I am a CPA and an attorney, but not a JD.
