So Englebert needs to pen a firmwide email every time something bad happens? Lol, come on now. It's not about having an open mind, it's about being realistic and realizing leadership is running a business and not here to sing koombaya every day when something bad happens. You have to draw the line somewhere.
I don't see emails about the Turkish bombing, the Brussels bombing, the Baghdad bombing, and all the other tragic that's happened. Now, why should there be an email about Dallas? Would an email make the problems go away and make the world a better place? I'd rather the leadership focus on running the firm well then worrying about our feelings.
Thought you meant something internal, douche
OP is rude as fuck. BTA with an attitude
Why would they send an email? Are you triggered by this microaggression?
But why would Deloitte send an email about that
OP - why don't you shut the fuck up and stop being a jackass. If you're going to put something out there, particularly as stupid and generic as your shit is, be prepared to address questions. Stupid ass - making us all look bad.
I hope leadership focuses on winning work and lets whiny pussies like you find a softer more caring environment
OP - you're going to have a tough life.
Dallas office sent a bunch of emails. Just because you don't know about it doesn't mean it didn't happen.
Not sure why you guys get so worked up in the morning? No BCG all staff email either btw. And I don't need one.
Please, make me feel safe uncle D. How do I continue to function in this world where shit happens?
OP is a pussy
This is so disturbing that the value of this isn't understood. The ultimate message is 'Deloitte cares' and acknowledges that recent events may be impacting employees. What's the value of emailing about Orlando? Paris? They sent emails then. Not drawing complete parallels between the events, just the need for communication.
What outcome would you hope to achieve with an email from the CEO that she had her COS write - do you just sit at home and think of things to complain about?
First of all, surely englebert does not pen the email. Second and more importantly, what happened this week is not just "something bad". It's pretty terrifying for two entire segments of our American population. Last night I had a black uber driver who was scared to stop and wait for me near a cop watching construction work because he didn't want any trouble with the cop. First thought might be like well why would he have trouble with the cop, is he doing something wrong?? No he's just scared as eff of cops, which is a huge problem!! So I'm not saying Cathy has to talk about this politically, just recognize the gravity of the problem is not "just something bad", it's pretty damn heavy.
Not trying to be rude but if you aren't up to date on the killings that have happened here in the US these past 3 days then I would suggest you turn on the news
Even if Deloitte sends something OP seems like the type of person that will micro-analyze the message and find a way to be offended by it. Can't please everybody...time to go crawl into your safe place OP. The real world is full of heart break and nobody gives a shit about you're precious feelings.
Agree with OP (everyone should be triggered) and D3 this is not micro aggression are you insane? I'm disappointed Deloitte hasn't sent anything firm-wide
@C1 That doesn't invalidate my point. An email should have been sent to everyone from overall leadership. Like what point are you trying to make just because Dallas office got an email, so what ?.. How am I supposed to know that Dallas office got an email if I'm not in that freakin office! Lmao. My point still stands. That doesn't mean anything to me if the rest of the offices didn't get one
OP I agree with you. Never thought about it until you posted this. @all- OP is not saying that she or he wants uncle D to make her/him feel safe, just that it's a level of respect given to other traumatic events. Y'all are jerks for pouncing so hard on this. Open your minds!
