PwC Assurance mgr at big 4,about to make Sr mgr. I am hating my life, job and acctg. Don't know how I got here tbh. I'm thinking about switching to strategy consulting / analytics but I realize this might mean I need to "start from scratch" so to speak. Am I better off to exit to industry and try to climb the ranks to director /c suite in hopes that I see more mgmt strategy / operations /analytics as I move up? Or am I better to switch and climb different side of big 4 again? Pwc EY KPMG Deloitte

Not everyone is getting a hike. I’m not getting my hopes up.
OP, is this in regard to Joe’s email today? Don’t get your hopes up man.
To be fair Accenture has done an abnormal amount of talent decisions this year -
(1) added an additional promotion cycle that was effective 2/1,
(2) had a much larger mid year cycle than typical
(3) during that midyear cycle a lot of folks got pay corrections to either compensate for lower bands that came out of FY20 outcomes or market adjustments in some areas where folks saw fairly sizeable increases
All that to say - there’s a lot more to be done. We’ve heard that we have matched BCG pay for UG/MBA hires and everyone is patiently waiting to see how that trickles out to everyone else.
This is just a perfectly structured answer. Concise argument with 3 supporting points. Recognition of more work to be done. God I've been here too long.

Deloitte also gave much smaller raises in June. EY and PwC raises were quite a bit higher across the board. Seems like D is playing catch-up (for once).
KPMG got a mid-year adjustment a couple months ago
Happened this year
HA, no
Accenture gave targeted mid year raises in June - the ones I heard of (including mine) were really good. Didn’t stop some people from leaving though.
