Billed hours divided by 2080. Its not hard.

like

If you're a consultant it's 90% of 2080 or 1872 hours. Now take all the weekdays in the year and multiply that by 8. Then subtract all the hours for a year for PTO, firm holidays, as well as estimated time on DU/PRD/Training/Community Service/etc.. That's how much time you *really* have to meet your billed hours target. Now divide that number by 1872 and multiply it by 8. That's how many hours a day you have to work to meet utilization.

Only parental/family Leave and other uncommon occurances make the toolkit say anything besides billed hours/2080

like

The it will tell you the exact same thing d1 just told you. Your hours divided by 2080. You work 45 hours in a week to make up for holidays and PTO. 45 is expected, not 40

OP- email your resource manager for it

In addition to what SC1 said, your utilization target is determined with the understanding that you have PTO and holidays.

As a consultant your target is 85%. The 15% makes up for pto and firm holidays..how hard is it to figure this out..smh.

like

Probably. Take billable hours (client service hours in DTE, including utilization earning internal codes) and divide by 2080.

That's counter intuitive. So 2080 includes all the holidays as well I assume (52 x 40). That would mean firm holidays would lower your utilization let alone PTO.

There's a utilization kit out there where you can input when you want PTO, whether you have investment hours, etc. and it calculates your utilization and adjusted utilization.

That is what I was looking for C1. You know where exactly?

If you search utilization tracker on dnet you should be able to find it. I don't think they have one for this performance year, but you can make some adjustments. Also RM should have it as well.

I left a boutique consulting company because I felt under utilized. Joined a larger supposedly hip consultancy with local market model with great expectations and am finding myself let down by the experience - the client, work, teamwork and collaboration, technical content is not per what was promised and feels like I am back to my b4 days. I was a fool to fall for the kumbaya in consulting crap - I am best developing products with great teams. Industry looks down on me. What are my options?
