It is different. There is PPD, Specialist, and PDM. It is meant for people with specific skill sets who can hop from Deloitte to other companies once their work on that project is done, but people often commit to projects for years so you end up being at Deloitte for years, but not fully part of the firm. The track has potential, but they need to think through how to make it fit into Deloitte instead of some random division that is 90% Deloitte except for the last 10% that just happens to be most of the awesome parts.
It is also in Consulting. The value is that you can have higher profits by being able to have people fully client-billable as opposed to having to pay for internal charge codes for things like learning hours or people being on the bench. Essentially no bench. You have one month to find something before you are laid off. Happy to share my random Talent knowledge, but this is a happy time for this policy! And yes, you should prob include PDM people, if at least under certain circumstances. Like, exclude the people at the centers in Orlando and PA, but not the highly skilled and highly educated who could be somewhere else. That's just going to make them leave and that's bad for everyone.
Let's make baaayybaaaaaysss!!!
I can't tell you what a game changer this would have been when I had to take care of my terminally ill mother my first year out of college. I'm 30 and still having to compensate for that decision and I truly didn't have any other choice than to step out of the work force. Had I had an employer like Deloitte then, it would have made a world of difference. And people say that having women in leadership doesn't change anything!
It's actually an incredibly generous benefit. I just read it and was surprised, PTO continues to accumulate, full pay and benefits and you can use it for siblings, parents, significant other, etc.
Utilization is also not affected.
Ugh, I just finished makin all my babies. What about a vasectomy subsidy with baby prevention leave?
I felt like I hit the jackpot when I read that email! Thank you, Deloitte! :D
Copycats
KPMG changed to this as well last year, I just need to find a wife to take advantage of it!
PwC needs to get with the program
So finally Deloitte have a type of leave that doesn't count against utilization?
SC1-Cathy sent me a personal email.
16 weeks?! Amazing.
Doesn't apply to delivery center folks :(
How do they verify this 🤔🤔 boutta be a foster parent for 16 weeks
Um PwC people- we already have that. Get with the program. We also have also have a corporate lactation program where you get a bomb pump for free, a program where you can roll your 1 or 2 rating over to your maternity leave year, emergency child care benefit, etc.
I'm in commercial S&O and I got this. It might be a consulting thing ? Btw this 16 weeks stacks with leave for pregnant mothers, so they can take 6 full months off (it's in the FAQ)
I'm making baby #2 tonight fam
Good - you'll are learning a lot from EY!
Wtf, im jealous. Two weeks only for non-primary caretaker at Accenture is nothing. It naturally puts the pressure of child bearing on the wife..
But they sent it to PDM people? Seriously?!?! They need to think about the damage that they are causing by excluding such a small amount of people from things like leave and fitness subsidies.
GREAT benefit! So sorry re PDM tho. Although dayum I'd trade to have no firm initiatives!
