Has anyone successfully negotiated for a salary increase in their existing role without exiting? I like where i’m at, unfortunately the easiest route to get higher compensation is to look externally. Any success stories and how much?
Hello! I have an upcoming interview with a hiring manager for a non-tech position (Tax). I would like to ask a few questions on the interview process and the next steps. Can anyone please help? I will DM and hopefully we discuss further.
what are some good questions to ask to the recruiter for an introductory call about a role you’re applying to?
Currently work at AWS in Business Intelligence and am looking to transfer into Product Management. Looking at MBB eventually. In my experience, most people from MBB have FAANG as their exit op. Why?
Anyone working at Bain Capital Ventures who can provide their honest take on your job, work-life balance, firm culture, and people? I’m thinking about applying for the Associate position. I’m currently in my 2nd year of consulting. Thank you! Much appreciate it!
What's the budget of IBM for lateral hiring on band 07b, for 8.1 years experience (java full stack developer)?
Anyone in Chicago hiring ADs???????
I romanticized being a consultant while working in industry. Then I got a consulting job, a couple promos, and now the idea of consulting just makes me roll my eyes. I love the pay and I don’t mind working hard, w/ long hours, but the “business of consulting” is exhausting (e.g. maintaining utilization, selling engagements, 6k iterations of a deck, etc). Great company, great co-workers, and interesting engagements.... I can’t be the only one feeling this way. Time to exit or is this a phase?
Got an offer from Accenture for Manager position. I am currently making 112K. How much raise I can expect or ask for? I was told 10-20% would be there but that does not sound much to me. Thoughts?
Does Sr consultant at Deloitte map more closely to a Sr associate role at Pwc or Manager?
What trainings should I do in the Accenture tool if I want to get a bizops/strategy role at faang or startups?
When should you exit from consulting? At which level? When you feel how? With how % salary increase?
I received an offer from one of the MBBs (Analyst position - banking benchmarks team). The offer briefly mentions that I'd receive performance bonus, but doesnt mention any range (% bracket). Nor does the compensation structure has any component of Performance Bonus (which is usually a part of TC) Should I ask the recruiter on this? What to do? Thanks in advance!
Kpmg global services vs Deloitte consulting.. ServiceNow opening.. Which one would you suggest. Looking for good WLB and transparent team
I need an opinion. I've been considering changing my H-1B to F-1. Reason being that my current job is taking an immense toll on my health. I don't think taking a leave of absence would help since I now fundamentally just don't agree with the career and feel hopeless. My exit opportunities are very limited because it'd likely be a job of the same nature as the one I have. I'd be hard, but I'm willing to go back to school to study something else and try a different career. Is this doable?
I need opinions on this. Just started a new PM role (at an IPG agency) last month but I recently got hit up by a recruiter from another agency (WPP agency) for a pretty enticing PM role on a 360 AOR account. Further context: The PM role I'm in currently is my first PM role ever (I came from an entry level AE/Producer backgrund) I know jumping ship for the other PM role would look terrible but tell me why you would OR would not jump ship?
What are typical exit opportunities for operations consultants? How does the pay change?
I’m leaving my firm, and a prospective employee (who went to my law school and is actually unknowingly applying to fill the position I’m vacating) reached out to me after her interview via e-mail to ask about my experience at the firm. Can I contact her to answer her questions about the position? I can’t see why it would be a problem, but something is giving me pause and I can’t put my finger on why. Thoughts?
Advice to young lawyers. Read a book. I saw the thread about savings and many young lawyers (20s and 30s) don’t know how to open up a brokerage account or invest in their 401k. I know they don’t teach personal finance in school (though they should!), but my advice is that you should go to your local library and read a book about the subject. You have the skills necessary but you must invest in yourself. No one will look out for you.
How do you guys deal with frequent brain fog? Ive always had it a bit on and off but lately I've felt almost lost in some work meetings because I can't retain anything. I don't smoke weed, I rarely take low dose of anxiety medicine, drink socially and I'm pretty healthy on most fronts but I did have COVID almost a year ago. What else could cause this?
CBS announced they will begin reviewing RD on 11/23 and plan to notify of interview/rejection within 4-6 weeks
I recently left the bank channel and went Indy, I’ve been successful at moving clients and assets over and am just getting started. A former bank advisor colleague has show interest in partnering up. For comparison purposes our AUM and production numbers were comparable. I did more fee based business while he did more VA and insurance business but we both have a fairly balanced product mix. What are thoughts on forming a new partnership? What should I be thinking about while having discussions?
I spend my days without showering, just eating junk food and watching puppy videos. What the bench has done to me..

Getting rid of my Platinum Delta SkyMiles AMEX. Spoke with Delta - it doesn't help my priority for upgrades unless I spend more than $25k on the card. Only Delta Reserve AMEX helps priority.
For those of you whose firms offer pensions, what are the details (calculation, vesting, eligibility, etc)? My industry firm made some changes to it two years ago, but I believe the current non-executive pension is based on .01 x your High-3 x years of employment with a 5 year vesting schedule and a MRA of 55. Just interested in how various other pensions work!
How much are the hourly rates for the seasonal contractors at the B4 firms? Especially in tax. Thanks
Interview help! If I have a terminating offer in three weeks, and an upcoming interview this week for a role I’d prefer, is it okay to ask the upcoming interviewer about their timeline? Or should I not mention the competing offer upfront.

Client keeps inviting me to meetings but not the EM or anyone else on the team (who needs the information in the meeting). Should I keep forwarding invites to him/her or just let them address it?
How do Big 4 Experienced Hire interviews differ from fresh graduate interviews? Hoping to transition from a boutique firm I joined after college to the Big 4. Interviewed with MBB during school, however, not sure what to expect as an Experienced Hire. YOE 4, Midwest LCOL. Reason: great pay and WLB, but, not challenged and little upwards trajectory.
Why do recruiters asks you how things went after an interview? What’s the rhyme and reason? Clearly they find out from the interviewer lol
what do people think the impact of COVID will be on job security in the consulting industry?
Applied to Guidehouse for managing consultant, put 140k as expected comp (lol why not). Recruiter set up intro discussion to discuss “next steps”. Pretty sure my comp expectation is far beyond the norm. Any thoughts?
