Yes 1000000% take all the time. Any “impact” to career is offset by time with the baby. When you go back - there is no balance. Take the time to give your baby all of your attention for 6-7 months.
Spectra S1 - doesn’t need to be plugged in when pumping. Also - it’s quiet, has a cup holder, a handle, a timer and a night light. No question.
Yes! Deloitte gives the time so take it. You will need it when your little one arrives.
I got the Spectra S2 pump through my insurance.
I also got the Medela Freestyle Flex through the Deloitte Lactation Program since it is small, easy to travel with and can fit in work bag.
Take it ALL! + PTO! you will continue to accrue PTO even when on leave, this is an amazing benefit not typically available.
Medela sonata worked great for me but it’s not as flexible as the spectra (like if you want to single pump). FYI You get 2 breast pumps, one through the Deloitte lactation program and the other through your insurance.
Spectra S1 is the best!! It’s chargeable so you won’t be tied down to one place trust me you’ll love the flexibility to move around with it once baby’s here (like sit comfortably in bed while pumping)
Not Deloitte but wanted to mention that STD is for your own medical recovery, maternity leave is viewed as time for you to bond with your baby. Assuming you are pregnant and not having a child via adoption or surrogacy, you’ll need both types of leave. It all runs together and it’s not like it will be separated clearly once you’re home, but definitely take all the time you can.
I have an HMO so don’t qualify for the extra pump, I bought the Elvie. It was my one big splurge pregnancy/maternity item
Take both!!! For breast pump i opted for the freestyle flex (through lactation program) and sonata (through insurance)
Spectra thru insurance and medela thru the other one. I loved my spectra. Didn't even try the medela
Just want to echo everyone else. Take all the time + PTO. I love love love my Spectra!!!!!! S1 & S2 are identical with the sole exception that S1 can be charged up and disconnected from wall, which is a nice plus. Most insurances will only cover an S2, but you can ask for an S1 and pay for the difference yourself. It’s about $50 and totally worth the money.

Moms - how do you get a Spectra S1 through insurance (understanding I may have to pay the difference). Should I call my insurance company or do you have a website?
