Deloitte moms, I need your guidance. For some reason, someone (not sure which team) has marked my maternity leave (LOA) starting next week on DTE and I can’t update it to show PTO. I have repeatedly told the Leaves team and MetLife that I’m not starting LOA until the baby comes (due date 10/31, no baby yet). Whom do I contact to fix the DTE issue? If this happened to you, what did you do?

When my leave (due date) came and went as I was 10 days late…. I called and updated MetLife and Deloitte and they updated it eventually and I was able to enter my pto. I’d just make sure to call both of them again so both ends are covered, I’m sure they’ll fix it eventually!

Call now and let them know you need to enter your data. Then call as soon as baby is born so they know when you change it. They may not change it till after baby is born but I’d let them know now either way (both Deloitte and MetLife)

I think the same happened to me (was just earlier this year but it’s all a blur!) I think I just mailed the deloitte team that has been communicating about leaves

Is a firm allowed to only give you 1 month notice before they change their PTO policy - they went from 6 weeks PTO and carry over allowed to now starting in January it will be unlimited and obviously carry over would be meaningless. People had saved multiple weeks and didn’t take off in 2021 so they could take that extended time off - they are mentioning that “oh it’s discretionary now so you can take all you want” but I feel like we’re getting cheated and they should have to pay us out balance

If we have good, free healthcare through spouse’s job (military), is it still worth it to pay for a high deductible plan through my job to get the benefit of an HSA? For context, we are a family of three. The cost of the health care plan just for myself would be $20/paycheck every two weeks (or about $520/year). Cost to add husband or child to the plan is over $200/paycheck (so I know that’s not an option). My thought is it’s not worth it to pay for the plan, but is there another pt of view?

Has anyone here been in the situation where you’ve been taking a prescribed ADD drug for years and now want to stop for pregnancy? Been taking it for 18 years and truly need it in order to function/concentrate. I have been trying to wean off it, but with filings & trial coming up, I don’t see how I can. I really want to get pregnant (already have frozen embryos ready to go via IVF) and am almost 40. I’m consulting with my dr, but was wondering if anyone else has advice from their own experience.

Adventures in Interviewing: Today we were wrapping up a pretty good interview with a strong potential candidate. When asked if they had any last questions, they said that they had an issue with our Work from Home policy (we’re 100% WFH right now, and will not consider a re-opening strategy until everyone is vaccinated). The candidate declared that they did not believe in vaccines, so we needed to allow her to be a permanent remote hire. I guess I’m glad about the dodged bullet, so there’s that.
