Hi folks, It's been 22 days since I joined birlasoft. But still I have not been mapped to any project and in induction I have been told this hiring is done based on an already existing requirement. Is it common to not get mapped after these many days of joining? Please share your experience!!! Birlasoft

Not to scare you off but it could still be a bit. Your last interview/ conversation will be with a board member then your business case and interview record go into a black hole known as National Partner Maters for several weeks for final QA and review. Once that is complete the FSS CEO needs to sign off, ie the Consulting, Advisory or etc CEO and then you get your offer
Seems like you are moving at a decent pace but it’s still going to be several weeks. National Partner Matters, high level organization that functions as HR for PPMDs has to do a review and this will take at least 2-3 weeks.
Direct Admit too, it took a year, final round was with a board member.
Took me 13 months ... based on my experience it seems you have a 1-2 months before the “oral offer” (took 6 weeks to receive the written offer). Funniest part of the process was the initial PowerPoint provided stating the process was 4-6 months :)
I was approaching the 1 year mark when the case was being prepared and final set of meetings were being scheduled. Did not yet have a verbal offer but had several very detailed discussions about comp, targets, etc. Met nearly two dozen partners and MDs during the process and had 2 more to go (Board, etc).
Then COVID hit. Initially they said they wanted to continue and do the interviews via video call. However when biz results started to come in they put everything on pause. Last call I had with the partners recruiting me said they think it will be a solid year before they might consider putting it back on track.
I lead an area that is outside of Deloitte's core but very important to leadership. Business has picked up dramatically during COVID and Deloitte keeps saying how they want to get a piece of this business. However I am told that leadership wants to focus on revenue protection over market expansion. Small boutiques are desperately trying to hire me (and folks with similar backgrounds). For a number of reasons Deloitte is my top choice but I may need to pull the trigger on a smaller shop... or start my own shop.
Timing is everything.
Similar story for me at EY. Full pause for at least a year. Totally understandable and I’m pretty happy where I am so no big deal but that was a fast shutdown!
How would you describe Deloitte’s partner culture? Collaborative and supportive? Cut throat and every person for themselves? Just seems so big that seems like direct admits could get lost in the crowd.
Surprisingly collaborative. I came from another consulting firm that was very passive aggressive in the partner ranks, Deloitte is not like this they really want you to succeed. With that being said, the expectations are high and as a partner you are not going to have you hand held
It is VERY slow . It was slow enough that I declined half way through - very politely :)
