I just read this simplification about getting & staying fit:
- Raise your heart rate (a little or a lot)
- Challenge your muscles (a little or a lot)
- Tease your balance and mobility (as much as you feel safe doing)
- Repeat steps one through three consistently.
Makes sense to me...! Do you agree?

Why is corp dev associate pay so shitty? Did these companies not raise pay when banking raised pay?

I have an opportunity for industry job. 11% increase, 8% yearly bonus, 4% raise. 15 minute drive from my house. Opportunity for lifetime healthcare after 7 years. Too low?

Any advice on how to ask for a raise/+ promotion? I know it’s lame but I can’t seem to get over the fear of asking.

How critical is taking on internal stuff for promotion? For example, getting involved with internal groups, volunteering to lead internal company events, etc.

How long should you stick around after you get a promotion? Or can I just dip immediately?

I’m interviewing for a role in an industry I’m really interested in. The raise in pay would be at least 20% from my current pay.

Would you leave during your promotion year? Bad for boomeranging? May feels so close, but with crappy AIP/Merit and a job offer with a big fat signing bonus and PTO payout of $15k I’m eyeing the door.

Everytime I think about work and how I can't even make a strong case for myself for a promotion I get upset. I'm literally pissed that I'm past a year mark and have yet to learn anything new since month 2. I've researched and taught myself as much as I could but many things are "learn on the job" type skills and so nothing. And yes, I've constantly asked throughout this entire year yet nothing has happened only promises that its coming soon or I'll be included in upcoming xyz.

Was deployed to a public job to Bay Area for 8 months as a staff 2. Checked in with my coach and my engagement manager. They didn’t say anything about the promotion.

How does one use another job offer to ask for a raise?

It’s not that much higher than what I’m currently making (9k more) but considering I’m also working 100 hours a week, any extra money would be good.

When did you communicate to your leadership about your pregnancy? I am making a case for my promotion this year but not sure if it would make sense as my due date is in early Jan. I am in such a rollercoaster ride as I am not sure whether I would even be considered for this year.

What percent raise over your current salary do you consider necessary for you to change jobs and cities?

What were some of your bonus/raise percentages from 2020? Trying to figure out if my firm is trying to short me.

I make 65k as audit S1 in New York but I see a lot of posts saying they make more than 70k across the offices Didn’t we all start from 58k and have single digit raise over the past years ?

If i did two separate stays at the same hotel to do a promotion would they know?

How do you interview if you’ve just started a new job?

I started a new job 2 weeks ago, but saw an opening, applied, and got an interview with one of my dream companies. Position is analytics related.

The resume I applied with doesn’t include my new job that I just started.

How would you recommend approaching this interview? Be honest and direct and say that I’ve just started a new job? Not mention it at all? Or something else?
