What kind of raise would be competitive and fair for jumping from public (big 4) to private for tax, for any level? And would I expect almost no growth in salary in private if there’s no promotion? And is jumping from public to private through audit usually grants a better raise? Thanks for any insight!
At what point did y’all let work know about pregnancy? Up for promotion this year want to get that promo which I’m cutting it close with yearly review.
Hi there. Earlier this year I laid out a business case for why I should get a raise & I asked for a $20-25k annual raise. I got $15k. I found out another person also asked for a raise around the same time. He didn’t give a business case, he just asked;he got the full amount he asked for ($70k). He is more senior than me, has been there longer, & we are not in the same function. However, something is just not sitting right with me about this situation. Any thoughts? Am I just over-analyzing?
Can we expense mood lightning (Philips Hue) to the fitness/wellbeing subsidy? I mean, they greatly improve our wellbeing, especially in the winter up north.
Human Capital Consultant up for promotion. Call with an Accenture recruiter tomorrow. On a digital enablement project with no SM and supervising others. How do I position? And at what level?
I'm switching jobs and considering whether I want to roll over my 401(k). I have about $220k in my plan. Considering rolling it into an existing Fidelity IRA with a balance of about $50k. Since October of 2020, I've paid about $880 in "plan administrative fees" to my 401(k) provider as well as the fund expense ratios. It looks like Fidelity does not charge administrative fees on IRA accounts, so that seems to make it a no brainer, plus the investment options are much broader. What am I missing?
How do you reckon a couple manage expense and savings when they get married - as in if I were earning 150k and my husband 100k should we both contribute like 2000$ toward monthly expenses each and 1000$ toward common goals and have a personal savings on the side? What are some best practices and lessons learned that you all can share, any help is deeply appreciated. I am very nervous about finances post wedding.
I got an offer from a PE ops team I’m content with. Should I still negotiate? Does this mean there is still more room to raise the offer given this is their first offer?
Can we reimburse both 500 rupee postpaid bill and 1500 rupee internet bill together for every month? Or are they same?
Low and even negative yields have turned some fixed income investing into “fixed expense” investing
Have any of you become desensitized to $$? I feel like nothing under $100 really registers or a 300-500 expense is what spending $75 used to feel like. I don’t make crazy money (130K) and still save fine but could be better. Is this just getting older? How to ground myself?
If we have leaves remaining, is there a way to reimburse it? Or will it get lapsed at year end?
Has anyone been subject to an expense audit as an employee of Big4, where all the expenses you have claimed have been checked/questioned? Is this a routine occurrence?
Tips for asking for a promotion? Buy side M&A at a $2B strategic holding firm (privately owned). I am the first analyst they have brought on and I’ve been here almost two years. Not sure how to proceed.
So I’m setting up my 401k (23 years old) and did some research on low expense ratio funds. Here’s my current allocation. Any thoughts??
Ghosted by PwC. Had my final interview and was supposed to have a decision by last Friday 12/3. No communications from HR on any updates. The recruiter is new to the company but geez, please treat me like a respectable person. Anyone else go through this?!
I’m an IT consultant and we just discussed an RFP with a manager. They wanted to use resources overseas/offshore for some capabilities and then one of the other managers said something on the lines of “or we could do pretty much everything offshore and do PMO here it would save the budget”. I’m sick of this approach. How am I supposed to get utilization and learn actual stuff outside of PMO if they always end up using offshore resources? It’s not fair for the new generation of consultants

Doing my MBA apps and absolutely feel like shit. It's a lot of work and I've been circling on my essays and feeling like I don't have anything left to give. I need to "sell" myself but I'm in a terrible place mentally and feel so drained.

Got an offer from PwC EU office 3 weeks ago. Global mobility team should have contacted me to start the process to apply for work visa and subsequently prepare a contract. Still no one reached out. Mailed recruiter a couple of times, they said global mobility team is quiet busy nowadays with all visa things of other candidates. Anyone who has experienced same issue w/ PwC recently?

I am traveling out of the country for the holidays and kind of worried about a potential lockdown. How has the Big 4 handled situations of people getting stuck abroad?
