Agreed! She was excellent! And planted a seed about reparations! “You want to help the cause in a way that’s meaningful, help us figure it out. That’s your right up your alley!”
I saw the email. My concern is more about actions that will enhance the career progression of black people. Are we being compensated similarly to white peole? Are we being promoted similarly to white people? What is being done about retention? The answers to these questions are no, no, and a lot of discussion.
What are we doing to correct these things? That kwasi call they had a couple of weeks ago was all bullshit with the fuzzy screenshots. Deloitte loves talking about action items and data, and metrics and project mgmt.
They could easily come up with multiple project plans to address the issues. They have the data. They know the problems. Create an action plan with metrics to manage it until they get it right. Thats all I want to see. All these events with speakers and authors is nothing more than pandering to me unless they address whats internal to the firm.
I dont need an author to tell me that everyone can be a racist. We can pick up the book. Lets talk about this plan to right the wrongs. Deloitte seems to be taking the scenic route around the real issues.
C1, love this feedback. Any firm you think is getting it right (or close)?
Edit: Sorry, I’m seeing that all three back-to-back replies are from C1. Not negating, but didn’t mean to hop on a lower reply (when the higher one might’ve made more sense).
Let me just say this: I own a consulting firm focused on helping organizations actually shift and change policies to drive systemic change and Deloitte said they didn’t have the budget for that - they wanted my services for free.
And yet... lol.
