Delta Platinum vs American Platinum: which status do you most often get upgraded? I know AA Platinum is easier to attain but I also have Delta/SPG/Uber crossover. Home base is LAX.

I have AA Executive Platinum and there were several times that I didn't get upgraded flying out of LAX...

Delta is doing a status challenge for EY right now

Stick to whatever airline your base airport is most heavily served by. Also consider the alliances they're a part of, where you can travel, etc.

AA EXP and got upgrade maybe 10% of the time to/from LAX

AA Exec Plat is the equivalent to Delta Platinum.

Good luck getting the Delta challenge though. 75% of fares are not eligible, and likely the ones your system is looking up.

Depends if you are flying transcontinental or to a non hub out of LAX. Non hub Delta usually gets upgrade. A lot of international travel through LAX where people actually pay for first class so it doesn't really matter.

@EY1 the status challenge is what made me consider switching to Delta but as @PwC2 mentioned, finding qualifying fares has proven to be difficult

It's almost impossible unless you can book the expensive fares

Also I have to use my corp amex to book flights, is Delta better for me in that sense since MR points transfer to Delta and not AA? What about chances of upgrade between Delta Diamond and AA Exec Plat (both airlines have almost equal market share at LAX)?

I'm delta platinum and I've been upgraded on every flight so far this year.. Fly 2-3 times a week even hub-hub travel which is usually harder to get upgraded on because of so many people with status
