I got more money for graduating high school than I did for my bonus. And I didn't have to pay taxes on it.
So....which agency is giving out $100 gift cards to all employees? Wondering where these ~30% layoffs might happen after that CSO alluded to them in another post on here.
Do I need to be rated at next level on all five points in my snapshot to be promoted to senior?
Senior up for promo to manager in audit in next year. Have decided I do not want to be an auditor. Which of these paths do you think is best? 1. Stay 1 more year, exit to industry with manager title. 2. Move to advisory internally, but most likely would have to do one more year in audit and move as audit manager to advisory sr 3. Exit immediately into industry to try for accounting manager title / senior accountant or sr fin analyst 4. Exit immediately to advisory senior at another big 4 firm
Anybody have a particularly good Bangkok hotel experience? Looking for SPG/Marriott/Hyatt options for a vacation I am going on with a friend
Considering leaving Bain with 2 years in SM role, HSW MBA, and 11 years since undergrad. Google role is non-technical Cloud Strategy. Unsure of title or level at this point - called "lead" but contact indicated flexibility. Would be remote in a non-SF/NY location. Mgr indicated it was technically an individual contributor role though I would be managing 2 people. What comp/level should I expect (Assuming L6?)? What is the significance of the IC role if I'm technically managing 2?
I was just speaking with a couple of coworkers who told me they see doctors who don’t take insurance. Why would anyone do that? Is this just a flex?
What cert to go for next? Currently have AWS-SAA and Security+. Thinking about CISSP but how difficult is it compared to the AWS-SAA?
Do any of the MBBs consult for FAANG or top tech companies? Or do all those companies exclusively use in house strategy teams? If any MBB does, a referral would be much appreciated
First year associate here - really freaked out by FS layoffs and think I might be next. How am I supposed to find another job after 6 months?
I know the usual advice for saving is emergency fund - 401k up to match - max IRA - max 401k - HSA?/personal brokerage. However, where does saving for a house deposit and car deposit (want used but only ~2-3 yrs old) fit in? I’m 26, 100k salary and have been trying to put away 3k per month into HYSA/emergency fund, was maxing 401k at ~$800 per pay period (lowered to $400 a month a few months ago since no firm match and would like to put $ into HYSA/house/car fund), and $500/month to max IRA.
Odd question, but I’m starting a new job in a few days. Am I able to use the private medical insurance at my new company straight away? Or do I have to wait for probation period to finish?
I am a 2nd year associate in big law with private funds experience, and am hoping to move to a midsize / lifestyle firm (searching for a significantly better WLB). Does anyone have any recommendations of firms to consider or suggestions for how to find a recruiter that might know of these opportunities?
5th year associate thinking about transitioning in house. Still have student loans. Has anyone gone from big law comp to in house and regretted the decision (because of the pay cut)?
Thoughts on cashing out marriott points?
Required Education. Almost all jobs nowadays requires a bachelor’s degree (rarely substitute by experience). If an applicant has all the job requirements, but lacks the education, are they automatically disqualified or filtered out? How flexible is HR with education if it is a requirement?
Went through a bad burnout a few months ago and ended up taking some time off during the Christmas holidays to recover. Now that I am back, I feel disengaged and can’t help but constantly feel like I don’t belong here. Anyone else go through a similar experience?
