How do you handle taking time off for interviews? I’ve had a few health issues come up in this job so the typical “doctors appointment” excuse probably wouldn’t work since I already have a lot.

I have a serious question regarding this because time is running out. I quit my job last year on Nov 5. I had about two weeks of PTO accrued and I wasn’t paid out my PTO. It was nowhere on company policy other than I was told “it’s known we don’t pay out PTO when someone quits”. Could I file a law suit to get me paid for those accrued hours?

I work for a CPA firm, 45-50 employees, and we're looking at expanding our benefits package. Right now, we only offer 2 or 3 weeks vacation, 1 week paid sick time, healthcare, 401(k) with profit sharing, and Life/Long-term disability coverage. No dental, no parental leave, no ST disability, no EAP etc.

Could anyone else in this industry, or in another professional services industry, weigh in on what benefits you offer and which ones are most popular?

I was on PTO last week and had some follow up interviews for a role I was interested in.

The bad news is, I promptly forgot to send thank you notes! (Family PTO in Disney/Kennedy Space Center - so a bit crazed!). I am back in the office today and sent the notes... but, I am wondering how big an issue this could be.

Renegotiating my contract and curious about maternity leave policies at other practices/hospitals. Do you get paid leave? If so how much time off & are you getting full pay? We are a group of about 75 employees, 6 docs with 5 PA’s and only unpaid 12 weeks off.

Ibm gives 22 vacation leave and 12 sick leaves but my team and PeM allows only 12 leaves (this includes both sick and vacation) leaves in a year which is very less . What are my options regarding leaves. If I take more than 12 in a year what can be the consequences?

Looking at HRIS options with a client, 35 staff. They are currently using Namely but it is clunky and doesn’t include some of the things they want (integrated ATS, documents, onboarding and offboarding checklists, time off tracking). ADPRun current payroll and are considering Rippling, BambooHR, and Paylocity. Using JazzHR as an ATS right now but would like to fold that into the HRIS so that they can use those dollars for a more robust perf mgmt system. Any thoughts on these or others?

Are there any tests you can get done to understand your fertility? I have PCOS and cannot start trying until next year or two. I would like to know if there will be any issues with conceiving due to my PCOS. I’m 29 right now. I asked my OBGYN and she said that unless I start trying, there’s not much in terms of testing she can do and that she wouldn’t recommend it. I recently tried quitting everything last Sunday, with drew all last week and then relapsed Friday, Saturday and Sunday worst withdrawals I ever had (cold sweats, shaking, wasn’t sure I would survive).
