Many who repatriate are lured by a vibrant startup scene in India that is drawing unprecedented capital from venture and private equity firms and is buoyed by an effervescent market for stocks. But they are also disenchanted with what they perceive as America’s bleak and hopeless immigration landscape, where the wait times for green cards are tortuously long, and the limits on launching startups for newcomers are highly restrictive.

It’s a complex subject, may be better to google this one. I am not sure if someone will be able to comprehensively explain the nuances of 401(k), Roth and if it is worth it.
Short answer: Yes, go for it, to start with at least contribute the % which your company matches.
Pros: I have seen my 401(k) was growing steading for past 2 years when compared to my personal investments. But 401(k) over the period evens out with some ups and downs over the period of next 30-40 years.
Cons: don’t consider this your only source of investment/retirement. It only grows at a stable and consistent rate which may not be your end goal
Thanks EY1. This is helpful
If you’re planning any major purchases for which you need to save up, then no. In pretty much every other scenario, always contribute. At least up to match and if you can afford up to the max limit.
