Despite the title here (I can’t seem to get a change to stick), I’m a senior UX designer who’s been at a company for 4.5 years. This week, I’ve adjusted my LinkedIn status to being “open to work”, for recruiters only — not actively seeking, just exploring options.

I’ve been unhappy at the org for the better part of a year since my former innovation team was dismantled. Just tonight, I received a connection request on LinkedIn from my HR director, whom I’ve minimally connected with. Coincidence?

Oooo, that does seem fishy. It sounds like LinkedIn tries to suppress recruiters from your existing company, but they say they don’t guarantee it.

Yea, it definitely feels a bit like a crapshoot as far as whether to log the change was concerned. I knew there was a potential risk but was hoping it would fly under the radar.

Also, what if the recruiter isn’t subscribed to a LinkedIn recruiter account?

like

Right! There are scenarios where this individual may have seen my comment/reaction to a post from a colleague and decided to connect themselves. There may not actually be visibility into my openness; the timing is just funny and questionable.

like

No. Not a coincidence. But may not be as targeted as we think (maybe LinkedIn just feature your profile)

If you see anything here that you like, send me your resume and I’ll forward you to my team.

Thank you so much! I’ll absolutely look into it — POS software, for the service industry, right?

If yes, I’ve never used Clover myself but have experienced many other POS systems for the past! As fascinating industry and product. 🙂

You should accept it. There is no shame in looking for options

Hello Folks,
My joining date at EY GDS is on 26th of September,2022. By now, I have received a link to upload required documents and also I had a BGV process done by FADV. However, even after completion of address verification, I received a mail stating that my address verification was not successful and I was asked to share my permanent address. I did so and also uploaded my Aadhar as a proof of my residence . I have completed this more than two weeks ago but still didn't hear back. Is it ok?

For people who work 100% remote: what is the best meeting reminder timing? 5 min, 10, 15, or other?

My calendar defaults to 15 min, but I wonder if the reminder is too early and makes me less productive.

Need some advice: I am planning to buy a house. Me and husband we both work in downtown and have a 4 year old. We have stayed in sandy springs for 3 years now and have loved the place. But the school in sandy springs are not good. What will be the best place to buy house now that we are working remotely anyways. Should I look for good new construction with backyard near dunwoody Roswell or should I look for good school district house near Alpharetta, John creeks and Cummings.
Please suggest!

Hi! I’m moving to LA from Chicago, base 90k - no debt. I live in a 1BD rn and have been browsing the market in LA to get an idea of rent. I’m mainly looking west of DTLA (ktown, la brea, pico rob, etc)it’s seeming like a 1BD may be out of reach. I’m not looking to pay more than $1800/mo. Any suggestions on neighborhoods I should consider? I’d like to be near grocery, restaurants, and would need parking. I enjoy being outdoors and would look to go on hikes/runs in my free time if that helps. TIA!

Hi. A bit new to audit and have a question on a report's opinion.
I came across a somewhat old auditor report (from a very small auditing firm) that listed several instances where employees misappropriated assets within its schedule of findings, yet the opinion was unmodified. Is this fine? I would think it'd affect the opinion not knowing everything that was misappropriated. Could it be that the auditor felt comfortable enough on how much they identified and that lowered the risk?

‼️DATING SOMEONE IN COMPETING FIRM‼️Anyone have any experience dating someone that works at a competitor ? I’m a new hire and I’ve been reading the policies and it seems really strict. For ex:

(1) can a person at MasterCard date someone working for a competitor (AmEx) or merchant partner (any company that accepts MasterCard ex: Google) ?

And (2) If they CAN date, does this need to be reported to their leader and HR, etc ? (Most people don’t want their company knowing about their personal life)
