I’ve been offered a role, during the interview process I asked for 40k, they were offering between 35k and 40k on the job advert. They’ve offered me 35k with a target based bonus of 6k paid in two throughout the year. I’ve spoken to a few friends and everyone has said that they’ve offered me more than what I asked and I shouldn’t negotiate. Should I negotiate? Thanks!

Any Bridge Engineers/Structural Engineers in here? I got my PE this year and have 5 YOE in TX + an MS. What sort of raise would you expect for receiving your PE working in a consulting firm? I am EOR on a number of structures in development, I manage EITs and Drafters (within projects; I'm not a supervisor), and am doing a lot in general.
