Beside consulting, there are other companies that give sign in bonus for post mba? Do tech companies have this policy?
Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.

What firms share salary bands?
Whomstever among you was responsible for putting Nick Offerman in a campaign for JB Weld... you deserve a raise
PwC is looking to hire people across all staff levels, from director to associates in the advisory practice. Please DM me if you’d like to be referred! I’ve got 10 years worth of connections at the firm, happy to help people out and collect my referral bonus 😊
I was committed to give 1lakh joining bonus in HCL during package discussion with HR but in offer it is not mentioned and I am asking with the HR for the same to revise the offer by including the JB. Whenever I ask them they are saying they will send me the updates offer within EOD but it is not coming. My Joining date is on 27th Oct. please suggest me what can be in this scenario
I'd really like to progress to Sr Designer and get my hands into more responsibility and bigger projects. My boss's feedback when I asked how I could work to a promotion was "Find a problem and solve it". I'm feeling a little lost by that? Like a pain point in workflow for the larger team? Or a design problem I'm facing I can creatively work through? None of the above?
“What are your salary expectations” “What is your range, I am open to adjusting and my previous salaries while very senior are not relevant to what I’m looking for today.” “So what salary are you looking for.” (Continues into infinity)
I've been speaking with many small CPA firm owners with a similar refrain. Here's one: small (under 10 employees) practice in peaceful NC town needs a Tax Manager. Great place to raise a family.
A month ago my boss told me I was getting a promotion and a raise. My raise was effective May 15th, and it has been reflected in my pay. He told me to keep it on the down low since there were no(cont)
Anyone threatened to straight up quit with nothing else lined up as a way to negotiate a raise?
How do I prove to a non-developer boss that I'm a good developer? I'm underpaid but my last raise was a huge jump because I was an apprentice before so was making minimum wage. So I'm afraid to rush things, but I know my work is above average, just not sure how to demonstrate that (It's just me and one other guy on the dev team at my agency).
To all consultants out there: I am rather introvert and quite confcall - how did you learn to boost your confidence? Culturally I come from a region where self promotion is seen negatively. You always down-play.
I’m in audit looking to be promoted to senior in July. Wondering if there’s any reason to stay at my firm for that promotion if my goal is to get away from auditing. Thinking I might end up in advisory or even pivot farther away from accounting in general. Does having that senior title on my resume matter?
I know junior associates feel the pain of being micromanaged and told exactly what to do all the time, but honestly, enjoy it while it lasts. It’s a whole new kind of pain when the partner ignores all your emails, never forwards you or copies you to keep you in the loop, never tells you what to do, and still gets mad at you when you are “behind”, or “get it wrong” or ask client/other side for something that partner got 3 weeks ago but never forwarded to you. 😂😭
HR/human capital/PAS consultant 🐠: If I have a Masters degree in HR and 2 years experience, is it worth it to get the aPHR or SHRM-CP? Or is the Masters degree enough? Should I wait for SPHR/SHRM-SCP
Who else finds uber tips coming in on a separate transaction insanely annoying for doing expense reports?
What are peoples experiences and thoughts on requesting to work remote every Fri? It was healthy for me having this in consulting... Seeing if I can ‘secure’ this before accepting a StratOps offer...
Is it too late to start CPA after I left Big 4? I didn’t do it while I was at the firm and now already 4 years after my graduation.
Who gets a very *cool* but totally botched pixy haircut? A day before a hugely important set of interviews? A f*** idiot, that’s who. Grrrr. What do I do now? Slick it back, I guess.
Does anybody else's dog 🐶 get mad when you take conference calls WFH? Mine will huff and leave the room. 😆
Struggling to find a good split that incorporates everything I want. Mentally I like keeping my workouts during the week while WFH so I am fully off on the weekend. Trying to find a way to incorporate kickboxing. Any advice? Current: Mon: peloton Tue: quad-focus leg day Wed: upper Thu: peloton Fri: ham-focus leg day Proposed: Mon: kickboxing Tue: legs + peloton Wed: upper Thu: kickboxing Fri: legs + peloton
How’d you feel after your final round MBB interview? Did you have a feeling that you were probably going to get an offer?
Anyone ever heard of LifeSci Partners? Curious if anyone has any insight on their culture, specifically interested in WLB.
How do you set personal boundaries? One of my colleague is new to the team, so I understand she may be struggling at times to get up to speed. But she is constantly asking me to get on Zoom after work hours (8-9 pm) to walk her through stuff. Even when I told her I’m out busy, she would keep asking when would I get home so I can jump on a meeting with her.
Does anyone have a referral code/coupon code for Uplift? About to order a desk from them.
When you always dial into Skype calls because of a broken computer and everyone thinks you're sus :(
What are some options for video conferencing with clients one-on-one now that zoom is out? See: https://techcrunch-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/techcrunch.com/2020/03/31/zoom-at-your-own-risk/amp/ I'm looking for secure free options and am considering jitsi, skype and Cisco webex.
