She can not do that. Those are your sick days to use. I would seek legal representation on that.
Agree with Oklahoma. If your contract has guaranteed sick days, including rollover, you cannot be penalized for using them. Your union (or you and your colleagues if you’re not unionized) needs to get in touch with an employment lawyer ASAP
I haven’t had that done to my evaluation, but I have had a principal that would be passive aggressive towards people that have taken sick days.
One time because I took a sick day the day before a break. I had a terrible stomach virus and was pregnant (they didn’t know this at the time though). When I got back and filled out my leave form it wasn’t approved. I had to go talk to my principal and she said many people just take sick days before the break, did I go to the doctor etc. I ended up getting it approved and told her I read the school board policy which states sick days can be taken on any day of the school year.
Look at your contract. If you are given a number of sick days, they should not be able to put anything negative in your evaluation for using them. And if they do. Contact your union and make sure they are doing it for EVERY member as well
I contacted the union, she's just targeting groups for no reason. Meanwhile, we have had vacancies all year long (our Juniors grades are only for three of the four quarters because of no teachers) but my one day a month here and there....is the problem
You should be able to grieve it
