I have been applying since February 2020 and am trying not to give up because I am an amazing attorney and just need a chance to prove how great I am. But have few prospects when they eventually come around.

While applying for visa my company quoted 80K as compensation. Now they want to reduce it to 75K.

As per research if anyone got 50 LPA Yen in Japan it's still similar to 15-16LPA ₹ in India as they have 1BHK rent is 1L Yen per month.

So embarrassed. I literally had one job to do today which was to schedule a client and give and take her paperwork when she came in. Totally called her by the wrong name today AND gave her the wrong paperwork. She was really nice about it but I feel like my boss was disappointed and I'm disappointed in myself. Hi all, wanted to start a New York-specific big late bowl. Figured this is better for us since the NY market is very different from other Big Law markets in the US.

For those who made the jump from biglaw to midlaw, how long did the recruiting process take? I just started interviewing last week and have a ton more interviews this week, and I’m already exhausted balancing that with a current busy workload. And how many firms did folks apply to/approx how many interviews did you do in total? Trying to get a sense of how long this process is for people.

Any Advice for navigating the Long Island legal market? I’m currently clerking and will be moving to Long Island in a few months for family reasons. Working in the city isn’t feasible given my circumstances so I’d love any advice from current practitioners in the area. To the extent that it helps I graduated from a non-NY state school, one of the top students in my year, law review, etc.

I was let go from my firm in September just after finishing my first year there and man finding a new gig with only a year under my belt has been challenging--only one interview with a boutique lined up so far.

Given how junior I am, is it possible for me to apply to entry-level positions citing a desire to switch practice groups? Or am I cursed to ever wait for those rare junior lateral posts?

What are your average billable hours? Month / year? What type of practice are you in? Are you on the Cravath scale? What associate year?
