If you will be out for more than 5 days then you go on short term disability. Inform your HR and they will send you brief paperwork to complete. Hartford will contact you for details and fax medical paperwork to your doctor. I believe you get 100% salary for 8 weeks and then it reduces to 75%- you don't enter time or exp when on leave. When you are medically cleared to return- your doctor will complete back to work paperwork for HR, just remember to keep HR updated on your return date. Fyi- mental disability like depression and stuff is also considered short term disability. Also, depending on your medical reason the doctor might sign you off to return for work with exception clause such as maximum X amount of hours per week or work remotely until you are cleared to drive again and whatever reasons they feel restricts you from working at full capacity.

Just beginning to accept I most probably won’t make it to my top choice company for life sciences consulting after networking with their senior consultants and directors (they really liked me and were very enthusiastic) and recruiters since almost a year now. They told me the position is still in ‘pipeline’ and I should take other opportunities that arise. I can’t wait for this because my current boss wants me to tell her whether ill join full time by end of May. I worked so hard for this. Ugh.

I am currently a medical biller and coder that just graduated. I am currently in an entry level position because I am still studying to get certified. I will have a year's work of exp in July and will sign a contract for another year because my boss is training me in more I don't know.

I'm wondering what the pay is for someone in my position without certification. I live with family and want to afford to move out but I am single and only make $18/hr. Is that standard or am I being underpaid?
