3 teeth at 30. Local anesthesia, it was super quick, barely any swelling and pain was 1.5/10 max. Get it done by an oral surgeon, not a dentist.
Second the oral surgeon. Try to find a reputable and super experienced one in your area if you can. Compared to me and my friends, mine made a huge difference
29 and have had 2 of 4 done. Surgeon told me that the older you are, the higher risk of having them grow out in a way that might impact nerves in your jaw. Happy to have had them removed with no complications.
Echo the sentiment that its preferable to have an oral surgeon do it as they do it more often. Also recommend going under as it literally just feels like you're sleeping and then you wake up. Ask for pain killers (I told him I worked in consulting. He prescribed me percs...).

yeah - I did. I was mid/late 30s - all 4. it was fine. full anesthesia by an oral surgeon. I took that day off from work, worked from home for a day then back in the office. I was back in the gym in a few days. it really wasn’t a big deal.
Not 30s, but I got mine taken out at 27 so also semi-late. All four were impacted. It took me a week to be semi-normal. Chipmunk status for about 2 weeks. Ask for legit painkillers because it hurts an insane amount and some oral surgeons try to send you home just with Tylenol.
Thank you! This is helpful. The ortho freaked me out today :( but it sounds like the worse is two days off / 1 week recovery
I was one of the lucky ones that had two taken out in high school and another taken out a couple of years ago because it took a lot longer to grow in. My experience was the same for both, pretty quick and definitely recommend an oral surgeon like stated by others.

I did and had it done on a Friday.
I’m 29 and just got all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out last week 😭😅 I had local anesthesia and to be quite honest the shot hurt more than the extraction. My bottom two were impacted and “felt” those the most….meaning I could hear it more than I could feel a slight wiggle. I normally get pretty anxious for any dental visits and my surgeon recommended taking some anti anxiety/calming pills (took one the day before surgery and one hour before). I felt fine leaving and was napping for most of the day. Semi-discomfort didn’t start until 4-5 days after but never reached a painful feeling. Definitely key to follow after care instructions though!
