Did anyone here try switching from marketing analytics at ad agencies to data science on the product side in tech companies? How did you make the switch and what advice would you give to someone thinking of making the transition?

I switched from marketing analytics at an ad agency to working as a PO on a Cap1 tech product. Idk what you mean by “data science on the product side” though

For advice, I’d recommend just learning a lot about what POs and PMs do, and framing your resume in that way.

Eg how did you decide to prioritize work, how did you understand & deliver work to meet customer needs, how did you manage expectations across stakeholders

Can you explain more about tech product and what exactly do you do

I currently do data analysis, reporting, measurement plan, tracking implementation. Some time use R/Python.

Is this a good investing mindset - been wanting to buy AMZN, MSFT, TSLA, and GOOG, but keep waiting for them to be more affordable(yes I missed the dip), while their price just keeps steadily rising to/past all times highs. But these are companies I believe in long term. And Time in Market vs Timing the Market. So should I just buy them now based on their future potential value as opposed to waiting to try to get a discount that no one know if/when will ever come?

Anyone have insights on how much a consultant would run for DEI?

Not sure if consultants would charge on an hourly, per meeting, per "experience" basis.

Would greatly appreciate any information!

Like a lot of others, I’m underpaid. I’ve been with my company for 3 years having worked various roles and have been working as a researcher for a couple years now.

Our org is restructuring and part of that is salaries are being reviewed and adjusted.

What are the chances I get the adjustment I deserve? They will need to bump me up 35%. Am I being foolish or do I need to look elsewhere?

Do you think it's better to let your work speak for you in terms of getting promoted/moving up? My college mentor (admittedly not for analytics) was always adamant that promotions would come when you deserved them, but I've seen several people I wouldn't necessarily consider rock stars at their job getting promoted this year. Should I be going after it harder/asking for it instead?

I currently make $65K as a Marketing Science Analyst. Started in July 2021 and have excelled beyond my and my superior’s expectations.
I love my job! However… I’m very underpaid when compared against local and national avgs for my role and responsibilities.

I live paycheck to paycheck (follow a budget/no wild spending.).. living wage in Nashville is 85K. I *need* a raise otherwise I will have to work a second job. Is it too soon to bring this up after working less than a year at the company?
