I had a co worker who bought one. They lost some weight solely based on the energy they spent telling me how awesome it was and how I should buy one immediately.
Improved my cardio. No weight loss. Need to change my diet. Booooo
Rising Star
-Weight is mostly lost through nutrition changes / reduced caloric intake
-Cardio mostly benefits heart and lung health
-Weight lifting/strength training mostly build muscles
No, but weights helped

short answer is yes, but there are better ways.
“toning” is the combination of losing fat (can definitely do) and adding muscle (easiest by lifting weights but if you ride *VERY* hard, you can add muscle in your legs and butt) - look at pro cyclists, those legs are from riding hard.
my ex rode her peloton HARD 4-5 days a week (and lifted weights) and had muscular legs/butt to show for it.
and “toning” isn’t really a thing. let’s talk about adding muscle and losing fat.
I lost about 40 pounds since getting on the bike regularly. But the real benefit is as a stress reliever…
This. I hate cardio but my heart rate has been increasing since the pandemic started. Whichever doctor I asked, they said I needed to incorporate cardio and reduce stress. I drag my feet getting on it but it really has helped me feel less stressful and to lower my avg heart rate in the past year. As a side benefit I lost a few pounds but I didn't have much to lose to begin with. What I like about it is the efficiency and convenience. With WFH, I have much more inertia to leave home and go to gym than getting on the bike.
Peloton definitely helps get an intense cardio workout in but you also need weights in there too if you wanna get toned
Peloton bike subscription includes strength classes and bike boot camps ! So if you take advantage of the strength you will get more benefit
