Did anyone suffer from PUPPP when they were pregnant? Any effective remedies?

YES! First pregnancy and it was awful. It was also summer time and the hives were unbearable. The only thing that resolved the hives for me was putting me on steroids. I had tried living on Benadryl to control the symptoms for the month before the doctor acquiesced to the steroids. By that point I had seen the OB and a dermatologist. It was my personal PCP that called my OB/GYN and demanded that she do something for me. His concern was that if I got any weaker I wasn’t going to have the strength to deliver. The OB finally acquiesced to the steroids and induced two weeks early. Baby was healthy and 9 pounds 3 ounces. He’s 21 now. I had 4 pregnancies after the first one and no more PUPPS.

Op. First off I want to say I’m sorry. I had a terrible pupp rash covering every inch of my body from my toes to my fingers (stayed below my neck). I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. When it first happened I called my doctor and she was like “yeah just try not to scratch” and when I went in she was like wtf you didn’t say it was this bad!! She prescribed me hydroxyzine wnd told me to take two zertec in the morning. She also prescribed a cream called Triamcinolone. Honestly those were the things that helped the most. It didn’t cure it, but put me in a better headspace because I was really not good. Other things that “sort of helped”: I started taking cold showers about 6 times a day. The cooling helped. I would scrub with old grand dads pine tar soap. It helped if I would put cold water, later the soap, and let it sit for like 7 minutes. It sucked, but kind of helped. Bendryl itch cream sortttt of helped, more than cortisone for me. Ice packs!! Ice packs really helped. When I would get an itch if I slapped an ice pack on before scratching (which was realllyyy hard) it helped. Best of luck! 💙💙💙

I had it horribly with my first, right under my boobs. It was awful. I used cortisone cream that helped a little bit, but my daughter was born in September so the hot summer was unbearable. The good news is that it went away almost immediately after I gave birth. Hang in there!

Thank you! I’ve been able to control the itching (though of course it flares up when I’m stressed with work) but I have these papules all over my arms and ankles that look like bug bites!! But it helps to know others have gone through this too...

What KPMG 1 said...the grandpas pine tar soap & cold, frequent showers helped to the best extent. You can find that soap at a Whole Foods or similar market. Sorry you’re going through it, it’s rough. Good luck and I hope it gets better for you!

My sister swore by aloe Vera when she suffered with it.

I’m in industry and need to do an RFP for a multi year tech build for my organization - essentially separating infra and business tech from our parent company post ipo - shared service to standalone. Already had a big 4 in to opine on strategy but need to do the RFP for an implementation partner basically from scratch. Any good resources for drafting an RFP? Boss wants me to do the first draft and I’ve never done one before. I only have a word template from our procurement team.

If you have a nanny, what does and doesn’t she do? In particular in the household? We have a nanny who is great with the kids, but I am increasingly annoyed by her lack of service attitude towards us parents. E.g. the other day, I asked her to run the dishwasher such that she can clear it before she leaves in the evening and this was her reply: “Dishwasher isn’t part of my main duties as I am hired as a nanny!” Have you come across nannies with such an attitude?

My SOs parents are visiting from India after 5 long years. They plan to spend time the kids for the next 6 months. Unfortunately, his contract at work abruptly ended and is going to be most likely without a position over the next few months. He is already feeling anxiety as he gets irritated by the comments his father makes. SO being in b/w jobs will only exacerbate the friction with them. mostly harmless like " U should have stayed at previous employer for less $." How to deal with this?

Do you have small talks with your manager and directs? Feel like an as*hole for not liking it. My boss likes to start our 1 on 1s with topics around family, trip plans, hobbies, and other small talks. I don’t care how his weekend was. Or his baby. And personally I don’t like sharing much about my family or personal life so the small talks thing is very annoying to me. He’s super nice and I like him a lot but I just don’t feel like we should try hard to get to know each other via small talks.
