I'm involved in a case that's completely outside my area of expertise. The partners have completely abandoned the case and don't seem to care much for what happens. I'm essentially left managing the litigation on my own and leading a team of attorneys (who also don't seem to want to work on the case). At this point being the only person working the case and taking responsibility for it is causing stress and anxiety. Would it be bad to be asked to be taken off the case?

Initially gave recruiter a salary range of 140-160. Received verbal offer of 125k base and 15k sign on. I kind of froze on the phone call and just respectfully declined rather than negotiating. 135k base is the number I need to jump. Do you think following up with an email and saying that is appropriate, or did I miss my chance?
