Hi guys,
What is the policy in your firm related to working hours during Ramadan?
As per the UAE government, private sector working hour must reduce by 2 hours. Does your firm/project comply with this and if not, isn’t that a violation?

I have 6 yrs of HR exp, a PHR cert & an HRIP cert. I recently left my role as an HR Rep at a tech co b/c I was working 60+/week and the stress of the job was affecting my health. I recently received an offer at a new tech co that is $10k less than what I was previously making with comments from current EEs that this new co has a better WLB. Total comp is still a lot less than my prev company. Is less comp too much of a compromise for better WLB? What have you compromised for a better WLB?

I did what you did, *from* exactly your position. If your firm is like mine, you might've been required to do this anyway. My firm policy is that for transfers you have to notify your manager before the final round of interviews, and they have to approve of the transfer. That being said, if your manager is any good, they'll understand.
I was in this position too. But my previous had a reputation of sabotaging and bad mouthing the employee so the offer would fall through. I saw him do it to several people, who eventually ended up leaving the firm. What baffled me was how stupid HR and new prospect manager were and didn’t see that it for what it was. How can someone that is such a bad employee work for you for 20yrs?
So I walked into HR, due to other issues with my previous manager and I used those scenarios against HR and policy. They knew that it also creates a hostile environment. I didn’t have to tell him squad until the offer letter was received and signed.
