It’s time for me to move on from my back office/CBS job at EY. I’ve been able to get through to recruiter and hiring manager screening round with FAANG employers and some tech companies but never beyond that. How can I differentiate myself when I’m probably also up against our client facing colleagues in consulting. I have about 12 years experience (7 at EY doing the same thing).

Maybe it wasn’t a good fit, normally an intro call really doesn’t judge those things. It’s usually a basic do you have the exp/quals for the role
Your resume may have impressed the recruiter (intro call), but the hiring manager may not have wanted to proceed.
Totally get that, but the reason for my posting is are there any things on my resume that I can control, certs or other skills to help me standout your transition into strat and ops role in the industry

Rising Star
It’s a numbers game man. If you’re getting this hung up over one intro interview you’re doing it wrong. Unless you’ve always had some deep seated desire to work for Uber and only Uber. Things happen, some companies come through and others don’t. It can be unpredictable at any stage in the process.
So many times I've sat and pondered about how we did such a terrible job hiring someone who we wanted and who wanted us. Then some HR snag backs it up 3 weeks and they go elsewhere.
So frustrating on both ends.

It was all just about my past project experience, looking back it it now I definitely could have used better projects to tie into the role they were looking to fill than the one I described to them. All part of the learning process I guess
