Hello! I am not happy with my current job position. I also just found out that we are pregnant and I feel stuck. My hope would be to move into a remote position but am afraid of the change as well as any annoyance about taking maternity leave from a new manager/ team. Has anyone ever changed jobs while pregnant? Was the team at your new job resentful that you had to take maternity leave so quickly after starting?

I know as attorneys of color, we often find ourselves being in a room with dozens of attorneys and still were the only attorney of color (I’m a brown woman, very often the only brown person AND only woman in the room). I’m starting to attend more client meetings and depositions, trials, etc. and I’m noticing it more and it’s starting to distract me bc I start overthinking it in the moment. How's everyone doing? I was on social media today and reading about the Adam Toledo video and it took me back to last June, which on top of the pain from seeing this racist system continue to win out, June was my lowest billing month and hurt my confidence about hitting hours compared to my white peers.

How are other people dealing with 1) trauma of another racist murder by cops and 2) impact on work? I am not black, so my pain does not compare but I can't act like things are fine either...

I was recently in consideration for a promotion but got passed over. I was told , in confidence, that I viewed as less serious about the role because I teleworked while colleagues were getting back to the office. That was viewed by senior leaders as being less serious about the job.

I mean, I have a job but I feel I will never advance if I use the benefits offered. Is this the same everywhere? Do teleworking lawyers ever get promoted?
