I was working as a regular staff therapist for 2 years at an assisted living when just 2 weeks back the HR approached me with an offer to work at a newly opened senior living, so basically I will helping them set up that location from scratch, open it and get it running. For doing all this they have not even clearly offered me a promotion, raise or a change in position. What should I do?

I’ve been thinking of making a switch from audit to TAS. I’m currently a S1 (2 busy seasons experience), and rated as a top performer at my firm. I’m contacted by Kroll, but recruiters there told me that since I haven’t got any TAS experience, I should be applying for their Analyst role instead of Senior Associate. Honestly, I want to switch to TAS but not that desperate to leave my firm. Anyway, I just wonder if you guys have the same situation and usually how long it takes to get promoted?

Is it harder to join a tech firm if you are coming from a consulting firm?

I’m torn between getting a Ms in Data Science at Texas Tech or a Ms in Business Analytics with a data science track at UTDallas. Does anyone have experience or advice with this ?

Do I need ICU experience to work in the PACU?? I’ve been a nurse for 3 years in stepdown units, and I want to make the switch to the PACU. I know the worst they can say is no, but I’m wondering realistically what my chances are without working ICU. I’m just really getting burned out working inpatient.

I’m a designer in the planning/landscape architecture dept. of a CE firm. Extremely frustrated that after 4+ years and multiple asks, I’m not getting the in-field construction experience I’ve asked for. I know that my designs could be better if I could see how things are actually built but I get slapped in the face with “I need you in the office designing/drafting” or “there’s no budget to have you go out” and then sends an intern to inspect instead. I’m 5 yrs out of college. Any advice?

People that define their identity so much by their career are the absolute worst (law, medicine, ibanking, etc.). In my personal experience, physicians are the most stuck up that consistently brag about high incomes and look down on other careers.

To those of you who don’t want to live in London forever, I’m really interested to know what your career plans are - even if it involves moving industry.

I work my best when I am busy and have upcoming deadlines. It’s either procrastination or just short of it, but I never miss a deadline and clients/partners are consistently happy with my work.
