EY 1, it's not about liking something , it's about wanting to be liked and accepted. Do you feel good by putting all the nice pictures on the FB and checking to see who liked it ? It's about seeking a constant recognition and approval. If you put stuff out and genuinely don't care whether you get likes or attention - good for you, but many people do care.

No. Culture is changing, just like it always has. You're just old. Liking something on the internet will not be the downfall of the human race.
^nailed it! EY 1 I'm in my 20s do not old. I agree 100%. People are glued to phones (me included). I call it brag book instead of Facebook. I've notice the correlation of people who constantly post on Facebook vs. success in career are amazing.
Did human beings not want to be liked and accepted before? Did we not brag and gossip to our friends and seek validation from others? Buy the newest most fashionable clothing? Drive expensive cars or buy the nicest house possible and enjoy the looks people gave? Social media is just another medium to do something that humans have been doing since the dawn of time.

I'm sorry if I gave off the idea that I was looking for you to tell me I was right. I am right. The reason I know this is because people use social media constantly. This is a form of social media. You guys jumping on here and backing each other on some anonymous message board is no different. So you can be the few hypocritical luddites who pass judgment on other people who partake in harmless activities that help them either connect with others or, sure, feel good about themselves. What sort of troll are you to say they are wrong for it? And yes, you may be 20, but you were born in the wrong generation. The general populace does not agree with you, so I'd say that you're falling behind with how our culture interacts with each other.
