K1- Always keep your eyes open for opportunities and don’t wait until you are sick and tired of consulting. This also ensures your resume is up to date and interviewing skills polished.
How does one time their exit well?
I took a 40% increase moving to industry. Who says you need to take a decrease moving to industry?
15% in base. Made up for in stock and better bonus. Total comp about the same.
Annual increase is about the same 3-7%. EY raises have been shit I hear, no more double digits.
OP, I was and still got that increase.
P2 and M2 - how did you negotiate that. Did you tell them what you wanted or did you tell them what you made and they came back with that. I ask because if I just through out even a 30% raise on what i make now as what I gotta wanted, I made sound ludicrous. So just looking for how you negotiated that. Thanks.
What....
If you time your exit well, you shouldn’t have to.
Makes sense thanks
Took 38% increase
@M2, were you at the top range of the salary band compared to your peers and still got 40% when you moved?
-10k base, +80k stock and bonus, seemed worth it
M3, I told the the range it would take for me to leave, then negotiated another 10% on top after they gave me the offer.
The initial range was already $40k above my current base comp
I told them what I wanted. Always go high regardless.
