Did your job, once hired, match the job description when you applied and interviewed?

Kind of. I definitely do more than the job indicated I would. I don't really mind it. I kind of just assume that will happen with every job.

No it did not. Description was more front desk but actual job is more on feet.

It never does. Everything sounds much nicer on paper than when you're actually in the trenches.

In general terms, yes. As you grow into a position, you realize other related duties that need to be addressed. The trick is not to let the job outgrow you. If you begin to feel overwhelmed, talk to your manager about the need to hire another member for the team to keep the workload manageable.

Yes. There was an opportunity to cross-train so I took it and that changed my job description but I realized I didn't want to do that so now is back to what it started.

Yes but had since expanded since we are revamping our health equity structure

Interview question: had a great interview with the cmo of a brand I’m really excited about for an ECD role. She mentioned there was a take home assignment, which usually is a dealbreaker for me but I want the gig. The hr person sends it to me, and it’s not one but TWO Full 360 campaigns, one brand one product. I’m currently still full time at an agency working insane hours (hence the desire to escape).anyone know the play here? Do I STFU and figure out how to get it done? Can I push back? HLP!

I interviewed for a role with the actual hiring manager more than two weeks ago. After that, the hiring manager gave great feedback, set up a group interview 2 days later. That went great as well and I received great feedback in response to my thank you emails. Since then it’s been crickets. I know part of this time included the 4th, so perhaps no big deal. But I sent a follow up to hiring manager yesterday and no response. Bad sign? Should I follow up with HR rep instead or just wait it out?

Hi everyone! I’m a Product Designer currently in their first design position at a start-up company.
