Hi Sharks,
I had first round of CITI interview this week and today I got a mail asking for documents submission. Does that mean this had only one round and I have cleared that? Generally documents are asked only when we clear all the rounds. Who has given CITI interview please let me know. Thanks..Citi

OP - it was one interview and it was hard. That doesn’t shape your entire future. Interviewing is in big part an act. You need to have rehearsed answers to a myriad of questions. Sometimes in the beginning the answers you give are wrong. Then you have to rehearse a different answer to that question. Sometimes it can take a couple of interviews before you get it right.
Don’t let one tough interview get you down. I had some terrible interviews along the way. I am quite happy with my career and I am by all standards very successful.
Just pull yourself up, learn from this experience and go after the next opportunity. You will find a way out of PA if that is what you want.
Good luck
Thanks. I am a tax lawyer. I am not cool :) ask my kids. But I do honestly care. You will be fine. I really did have some terrible interviews along the way. Some of them also made me realize that I didn’t want to work for those places either. You will find your forever home for your career. Just keep at it. Good luck
Don’t listen to P1. I agree you should take the interview seriously but should not need to rehearse if you are the right fit and truly interested. Don’t just answer questions but consider what you want to learn from the interview. It’s your chance to know whether you can work with the manager (your new boss) and meet future co-workers. Screen out micro managers or mean bosses. Don’t want to leave one frying pan only to go to another. You should just be yourself.
The two concepts are not mutually exclusive. Job candidates should absolutely ask questions and assess personalities to decide whether they want the job, but that assessment is only relevant if you receive an offer. Think of it as a first date
As far as the how- Different processes work for different people. Dry runs with friends can help, as can just speaking out loud or writing your thoughts down on paper. And then think about how it would sound if you are interviewing a person and hey give you that answer. It is possible ( read “imperative”) to be truthful - but that doesn’t mean you have to lead with the parts that don’t sound as good.
You've got this, OP!
Also, you may not have done as badly as you think! Wait and see how it goes. I wasn’t confident after my interviews with my current company. It was so tough and I wasn’t sure if I did a good job at all. But, I got an amazing offer and love working here now.
Tough technical questions?
What type of role and company gave you a case study?
OP what was the job title of the position that you were applying for? Just curious given that you had a case study.
There are competent IA dept out there but still agree with DT1 that they are not valued. You will definitely see this difference in compensation (if not now then later on)!
