This is a blasphemous statement

likefunny

Maybe it is, side note never see someone use blasphemous is a sentence, except the recent game which is also really good.

Just to be clear: there are only 3 Indiana Jones movies for true fans.

Temple of Doom was simply a bad movie in general.

The other two are fantastic. Especially the last crusade.

like

100% when it was made, but you’re right. I can’t help but love Last Crusade.

I meant after watching 4 of them lol. 4 was not my favorite for the record.

The movie didn’t age badly, society aged badly in terms of what is culturally and socially accepted

@S& thanks for increasing my age with 15 years

All those movies are in my top 10, but I get where you’re coming from. Also just started watching Cheers for the first time, and boy that show aged poorly.

Ok I can see temple of doom being kind of insensitive but how are the others in that category? Weren't the main villains Nazis?

Yea temple of doom I can agree with. The other two though I don't think were insensitive at all.

Temple of Doom is almost a parody of the hyper macho reluctant hero with how wild they went with both Shortround and the female lead. But I think you can enjoy stuff up to a point within the context of its time and the Indy franchise fall safely in that zone for me.

Also Indy for all I grew up with the movies and nostalgia wise still love them is a creep. The discussion with Marion about their relationship when he worked with her dad? I think she says “I was a child and you knew it”

That! I was talking to my SO and I pause and ask her if she heard what they said. Then, we have to look it up after the movie. Apprendly, she was 15 when he was late 20s.

Who watched on CBS last night?

That statement also applies to Disney movies I watched as a kid. Pocahontas? Atrocious.

Question about the “no moonlighting” policy at many firms: the policy (at my firm at least) says that you may not accept any other employment without prior approval while working for the firm. My reading is that this would not stop me from starting a small side-hustle business on my own, since I would not be accepting employment elsewhere. Agree/Disagree/other thoughts?

Can you have a middle class lifestyle in the Bay Area if one person works for the gov and another person works for (say) a tech company? But it seems like unless I also went and worked for a tech company (SDE or data eng probably), we’d drop from our comfortable middle class lifestyle we have now.
