I failed FAR 3 times, with my 3rd attempt being a 74 😭. I found it helpful to delvelop single sheets of notes on topics I found most difficult for me. I would cumulatively review those sheets, to make sure I wasn’t forgetting information as I kept studying. This helped me also for final review because I had concise notes to study from. I also made my own flash cards and studied them all the time (while I walking, on the commute to work, in line at the grocery store). You got this and you can do it!!!

Thanks for sharing!

Make it the first priority you do in the morning and the last thing you do before heading to bed. Some other useful tips that saved me was making sure I could calculate bonds through amortization spreadsheet and that would answer most of the bond questions I saw. First Sims I relied alot on my ability to research through auth lit with keyword searches.

I failed FAR multiple times, just keep trying. Figure out what didn’t work for you and make sure you improve in that area. You will eventually get it, don’t give up

Thanks!!

I failed a few times and then got a tutor through varsity tutors. Worth every penny.

Thanks! I hadn’t thought of this!

You will conquer the beast! I have failed FAR one and taking it again next week. I have been doin many MCQs to review and took a few practice exams. I agree that revisiting things definitely helps...a topic will eventually click in your head. When you find trouble areas, just read and do questions on them. It is impossible to remember every detail on this exam. Good luck!

What was your study plan?
Like did you do lots of MCQs? What was your average? How about your Mock tests? Did your review go well? Could be many things, I thing I found helpful was repetitive revisiting the topics to make sure it’s fresh in your head.

Also what’s the score you failed with?

A 60, but as far as my study plan I think I need to just do more problems. I gave myself about six weeks which was maybe too much time.

Hi all! I just wanted to share my experience with the CPA exam and how I prepped in hope that it helps some of you. I just found out that I passed my last exam yesterday and I’m now in the process of applying for licensure. I took REG and passed with a 75 about two years ago now. I also took the other 3 around the same time and failed all of them. I tried to fit them all into a semester but that wasn’t realistic for me. Fast forward a year later after I got out of PA and went into industry cont.
