Didn’t successfully move on in a S&O mgr role. Thought overall the interview went well. What are the best tips for prepping and landing that type of role?

IMO Your best prep is to have exposure to the business unit/industry in question (ads, cloud, etc.) in addition to nailing the standard interviews (RRK, GCA, etc.) I think this crowd just underestimates how competitive these roles are/how non-differentiated you are as a consultant.

Kinda seems like there’s not much you can do besides be hopeful your work experience is related to one Google’s core businesses.

Which role was it? Waiting to hear back from a recruiter about an S&O manager role so curious if it’s the same one…

This happened to me too; same S&O mgr... was yours ads policy?

Practice interview responses to common questions and record yourself on video. Watch your recordings — note how you structure & deliver your response, go through your narrative flow, etc. Find ways to improve and and repeat this process several times. Some alumni career services depts might help, too. There are also lots of YouTube videos with advice on preparing for Google interviews. You’ll definitely see improvements if you keep practicing!

Currently in a rotational program at EY (first year out of undergrad). Got placed on a long term risk project and wondering if it’s worth it staying long term. Currently interviewing for the strategy team at a legacy payments company (think visa or Mastercard) and wondering if it’ll stifle growth doing internal consulting. Would definitely appreciate any insights on this as I’m not too sure who who talk to and ask. Thanks!

Would it be better to exit when things are still good? I’m finishing up year 1 at Bain and have generally had a positive experience (great teams, great cases, etc), but I don’t want to stay here forever. I go back and forth on the thought of leaving every day since I also have a young baby. Were it not for her, I would absolutely stay for 2-3 years.

I amicably split from my wife in Dec 2020. After two months alone I got desperate for human touch and made an OLD profile. I quickly met a lovely woman and we're FWBs I guess? We haven't defined things (no ex talk, not exclusive) but we had a great summer (camping, hiking, biking, dinners, etc.) and I could see it getting serious. Problem is I haven't told her I'm estranged but still legally married. My ex has health issues that need my insurance and I can not cut her off after 10yrs together
