Digital nomads? I have enough for coastfire and was thinking of bouncing around and teaching English online to stay afloat. Opinions?

Personally I’m not in favor of doing teaching online. The work isn’t regular enough and you can end up competing with people elsewhere who may charge less.

Speaking for myself I like the regularity of a more traditional job.

That said, my criticisms are my own. They are from my viewpoint and your mileage may vary.

The food of an online job is that you can travel and still earn with a more normal “barista” job you can’t do that.

Teaching online would be with one of the well known companies like vipkid. I believe they are always looking for people and you essentially build your own schedule. I just don’t like being tied down to a physical location.

You have to build a curriculum and become your own marketing agency to get work on those platforms. Continuously reinvest to engage old and new clients.
It’s a lot more than showing up up teach a 30 mins English class.

I hit my 401k pre-tax and ROTH contribution limit of $19,500 early (didn’t change my allocation when I got bonuses). I have also already hit my max company match. With the extra income, should I:

1) pile on to after-tax 401k

2) max out pre-tax and ROTH IRA

3) make extra monthly payments towards my mortgage

4) invest elsewhere such as brokerage account or crypto

Is it better to take out a personal loan for credit card debt vs a debt consolidation? I decided to do a personal loan with a bank I already have a mortgage with. I did 16% for three years vs having multiple credit cards with 25% interest. The loan covers two of my four credit cards. But a friend said I could’ve gotten a better deal with debt consolidation bc they have relationships with credit card companies.

Need some FIRE advice please. I am currently 25 M, with 125k in savings across my 401k/ESPP/Personal Brokerage Acct. etc. I have no debt. Base salary of 125k with up to 25% bonus.

I contribute 20% to my pre tax (employer matches up to 6%) and 5% in my Roth 401k and 10% in my ESPP. I keep only what I need in my checking to pay rent and have some fun on the weekends, but all relative would you say that I am allocating my funds correctly. I live below my means, LCOL city, used car, max my 401K, save my bonuses, etc.

I am going to get a large bonus where after tax, I'll get a couple hundred thousand.

Should I prioritize pay off all credit cards or pay down half/some of the cards and use the rest for a house down payment?
