Director has been out sick for two days. This is closest thing I get to vacation. 🏖😎

I am debating on accepting a new role. It pays significantly more than I make now but they do not offer paid maternity leave. My current job does. They stated that I would have to use short term disability (which only covers a portion of my pay) and all PTO/Sick leave. I am hoping to start trying this year but, I want to make sure that I am covered. My spouse is a teacher so there’s no way he could cover things in case of an emergency. Any experience with pregnancy and not paid maternity leave?

At team dinner, got close to croaky and teary eyed when talking about taking some time off. Is that inappropriate?

If you are pregnant, do you think it’s fair to tell the team + client you’re logging off around 7pm everyday?! Are you still expected to grind as hard?

How much paid time do you give your employees? Do you give the same amount for the primary and secondary caregiver? Please include your company size and industry.
