Male colleague on the project announced on our zoom meeting that his wife is expecting twins. Took all my strength to smile and wish congrats - thinking about the miscarriage I had 3 months ago. 😥😥
In tech consulting are technical MS degrees valued / higher compensated? I’m sure it is not as big of a difference as an MBA for strategy, of course.. but nothing?
A good friend had to cancel her wedding this year cause covid but with the virus relatively under control in NYC, they decided to move ahead with a socially distanced, small wedding ceremony of just 20 friends (in a tent outdoors) and only 2-4 ppl per table. Masks required. I am living with my parents right now and debating if I should go or not. The couple was really understanding and did say they would not be offended if I chose not to go. Thoughts?

What is the worst job anyone has jumped to from B4? I can’t imagine anything would be worse hours wise but I see people boomerang so I wonder if there are some stories out there.
I've heard chatter of B4 senior pay freeze of $85k. Anyone know if it is true and which firms are doing it?
Is Wall Street delusional or how is the market practically back to normal when covid is still spreading extremely fast and will most likely affect companies into 2021/beyond... Thoughts?
Audit is sucking the life right out of me and taking a toll on my mental health. Ideas for 1) making it bearable until I find something else, and 2) any ideas for positions I could apply for that would be different but not impossible to attain without going back to school? Thanks in advance!
Does it upset anyone else that we've created a culture where bullying is the norm, where violence ends in gun shots, rape is hardly prosecuted, and dreams are shattered by actions of others.
How would you rank these three items in terms of reasons why to keep a current employer ( salary, growth potential, respect)?
I started a new job a few months ago and the female lead on my team told me on my first week that I should have come in two levels below the level I was hired for. She then told me the only reason I came in at the level I was hired for was because of my salary requirement and I would not get promoted easily/quickly (keep in mind I’m not thinking about this during my first week lol). Since then she has never brought this up but I still feel weird about it.
Flight got cancelled and I have to stay at the airport all day. I have back to back client meetings. Can I expense a day pass in the lounge? I need privacy and quiet.
What types of health opportunities are available in Boston? Looking to do work with health systems. Could be federal, commercial, or the partnership between the two. Any insight would be great.
Very torn between prepping and applying to MBA or FAANG jobs. I currently am at 4.5 YOE, 150K base, engineering manager. My network has advised that an MBA can help pivot careers as I’m exploring content strategy (Netflix). If any fish here are available to chat, please lmk! I have seen threads here about the value of the MBA going down so looking for advice! Thank you.
