Director of sales and finance for a 25M company. What should I look for to move up in my career? Larger org or different role?

Anyone familiar with customer success group? Currently going through interviews and not sure what to expect in terms of compensation for principal success architect role.

I have never received a grade increase for the time that I was there, yet all of my reviews have been favorable down to me being able to receive monetary bonuses. Been seeing many stories about big salary increases with counteroffers. Do people really get an interview with another employer, receive an offer and then present it to their current employer? Or they just tell their PML they receive an offer from Linkedin w/o actually going for an interview. Asking because I wonder how one continues to work at the same firm knowing you already had an interview with someone else.

What do you think about “arriving before and leaving after your manager” culture. I find it so toxic! Having completed your work or even after no longer feeling productive you have to sit there and wait for your boss to leave.

Recruiter lied about interview process and job type. First interview goes well and interviewer tried to schedule me for in-person interview first thing next morning. I tried to push off into next week and was told it wouldn’t work with timeline. Everything was supposed to be remote, should I keep it moving and go somewhere else?

My manager casually threw out that she had an exec tell her it’s fine if she wants to close my division down next year. We are a niche team in a large company. I asked her to clarify as I am worried about my team (and me) she said we would be “well taken care of” as in receive severance…she was so casual about it and said she didn’t know what she would do - we’re performing well, but it’s a small market. What do I do? Warn my team? Look for jobs? I have been here for 20 years w/niche skills…

Looking for insights from any seller at any of the hold co’s. I have an opportunity to join a new team at a hold co but I’m not sure if it will be a great move to make. I’m doing very well where I am, book of biz is thriving, but the allure of working at a larger company than my small company seems like a great resume builder. So I’m currently entering the 4th and final round of an interview process for a sales role.. The final round entails a sales pitch presentation where I present either a topic or product that I can confidently convey a persuasive message about.

The actual topic isn’t what’s important as it’s more about then actual skills show cased.. I’m currently struggling to decide on an easy topic that would suit well - between the topic and then any other words of advise I can use some tips for this !!

I’m so done with sales. I’m burnt out and uninspired with my job. The pay is nice, but I need something more fulfilling and less stressful.
