HBO Max is great, top quality content but not a ton of it. Netflix has a bigger library and better personalization though.

Bet, you won’t be disaaponted!
Lol my partner is a programmer and he got us a Shield; install Kodi and Jellyfin and then you can set up free services to download all the shows/movies you want; for example, I have last week tonight set up to download whenever a new episode comes out, and Kodi sends me a reminder once it’s ready so don’t even have to think about it. In the absence of that, get Netflix
Do bear in mind my response is a user response (someone more technical could justify this purchase better): Shields are about $200 so not SUPER expensive and given the price of subscriptions etc it pays for itself within less than a year, it also gives you access to PC games on your TV for free, I’ve also found it super easy to use and install add-ons. That being said, the techie in the family is saying he went for the shield cause it’s the best all-rounder and enabled him more flexibility when setting up a good home system/server; his recommendation though for just streaming is probably the firestick (though that requires subscriptions to every one of these services so defeats the “solution” I was proposing
What's a Shield
streaming box from Nvidia, kinda like Roku but with more poweruser features
All three - share with siblings / family
Lupin was so fun to watch and I loved The Serpent.

Check out Katla on Netflix
It’s an Icelandic show that I actually enjoyed
I use all three, but I get Netflix for like $2/mo through T-Mobile, bought the “buy 2 years get a year free” D+ deal when it first launched, and use my dad’s “I want every channel including HBO, Starz, and Showtime” cable login to get every other channel/service through my AppleTV.
You're going about this the wrong way. Pick a show and subscribe while you watch. Finish show, cancel/suspend subscription and pick a new one.
They make it so easy to stream services (pun intended).
